SON WITH BARRETT'S, MORE INFO NEEDED ABOUT TED'S REMEDIES

03/13/2009: Gladys from Lake Ridge, Virginia writes: "I am desperately looking for a Natural Remedy for my son (age 32) that was recently diagnosed with Barrett's. He is taking the medication the doctor prescribed him; however, he is in pain everyday even with the medication. I am really concerned because all the information I am getting online talks about a pre-cancerous condition? The fact that he is not getting any relief concerns me. While looking for information I found your web-site and read a response from Ted from Bangkok. He gives a remedy in his e-mail that I would like to try it out but does not gives specifics. Can I get some additional information. This is the part I am referring too: " Barrett's Symptoms seem to be more in line with supplement more on selenium, zinc, garlic, magnesium, B5, B8, and silicon (from oatmeals) then most GERDS and have more to do with the rebuilding of cellular structure, electrolytic correction then most GERDS. The other issue is the importance of vitamin C, especially sodium ascorbate, about 250 mg./day. Most simple reflux are usually best handled just taking any kind of buffer solution where you take twice a day. Such as 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water once in morning and evening. It will correct most pH imbalances needed".

Thank you in advance,

BARRETT'S AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR -- TOO ACIDIC?

04/08/2008: Nancy from New York, NY writes: "Barrett's Esophagus. I am new to this site. I was just diagnosed with Acid Reflux with Barrett's. It is important for me to keep the acid reflux under control. However, my doctor tells me to avoid all acidic foods, such as tomatoe products, citrus fruits, chocolate, coffee. Won't the vinegar be too acidic for my condition? Does anyone else out there have the same thing as me? By the way, this all started for me when I developed an ulcer brought on my NSAIDS (i.e. Naprocin, Ibuprophen). I'm trying to work on losing weight, eating natural foods, cutting out red meat. I do have the sore throat sometimes and the acid taste in my mouth when I have some offending foods. I drink a lot of water and take Asaphex once in the a.m."
