Packing Your Fanny With Tissue

[YEA] 10/23/2009: Robert Henry from Ten Mile, Tn Usa: "LORDY,,,,,,,,,,, How do I present this post? It is gross, but so is bacterial vaginosis and no one has problems with that.
So here goes. I learned this while hunting squirrels back in the early '70's in Southeastern Okla along the LIttle River and below Broken Bow. If you want to find 8 squirrels up a tree, then you got to go hunting when there are 8 squirrels up a tree. That is when the the squirrels are cutting Hickory Nuts and that is at the end of August when the temperature is 100 in the shade. Being a tad fat and a sweater , I always got chaffed and my hunt was spoiled. I used baby powder to no avail. Being smart , jus slow, I concluded that the problem was sweat passing through my fanny picking up bacteria and affecting my crotch.
In about 1972 I began to pack my fanny with tissue and lots of good things happened to me. I no longer got chaffed, and I no longer got the jock itch. My shorts no longer had nicotine in them nor had any odor. My wife and no longer passed fungus between us. 40 years later, I am still packing my fanny with tissue.
It is especially important to old folks as their anus spinster ain't what it used to be and leaks. Anyway, It think it is especially important for fat wimmins. Their female problems may be from sweat bring down e-coli from their anus.
I know this is rude and crude ,but I believe it with all my heart. My suggestion for folks with crotch problems
=======pack your fanny with tissue. Your problems will go away."
10/23/2009: Eve K from Houston, Tx replies: "FYI, "fanny" in most other English speaking countries means something else.
To the non-US readers, "fanny" in America means "bum", bottom, backside...
To the rest of the world it is a slang term for a woman's genitals."
EC: Thank you for clarifying that, Eve!
10/24/2009: Tricia from Ireland replies: "Thanks. Eve. I follow Robert Henry's stuff cos one of his posts gave me the confidence to try the rosacea remedies. But that one gave me tears in my eyes at the thought of retrieving the tissue. Words can mean totally different things in different countries so it is something that needs to be watched out for on an international site such as this one. Only recently I had to explain to an American lady that the word "CRACK" means drugs in the USA but here it is simply a word for fun. When somebody in the group said we were all cracked up, her face was a picture."
Pineapple Juice
08/02/2009: Calientemami from Gso, Nc: "I have not tried this but I was watching a show and it said some people found that pineapple juice is known to having it smelling fruity fresh down there, and this is just for odor not BV so dont try this to cure BV. I am also trying the folic acid and b-12 and I will see how this works for me and bathing in ACV cause ACV seems to work for alot of things its amazing!! I stumbled upon this website on accident and its very helpful!!"

[YEA] 05/24/2009: Michelle from Salt Lake City, UT: "Please add this remedy in the Vaginosis section :)
I have tried so many things for this terrible, frustrating, humiliating and irritating condition - including the Hydrogen peroxide, folic acid, and acidophilus cures. What *has* worked for me is the combination of povidone-iodine swabsticks & high doses of vitamin c. A few years ago, I saw a MD who also did alternative care (when I had a wicked case of candida). He suggested that I swab vaginally with 50% povidone-iodine and 50% water. This was a tremendous pain until I discovered povidone-iodine swabsticks (google them for retail sources). After months of an unrelenting vaginosis (complete with fishy smell), I decided to try the povidone-iodine swabsticks on that. It works!! The wicked smell and discharge is washed away immediately!! I think it's important to do this 2-3 times/day for the first few days, but after that, once seems adequate. Note that I am doing this once or twice a day now - and am unsure of how long I'll need to do it, but it's ridiculously easy so I'm totally cool with that! Also, it doesn't sting - *at all* even immediately after sex, which I definitely can't say about the hydrogen peroxide douche (ouch!).
Also - I have been diagnosed with cevical dysplasia and was looking for a treatment for that. In the Doctor Yourself website, this quote is made: "Dysplasia is a study in scurvy. In vitamin C deficiency disease, there is insufficient production of collagen, the strong, healthy glue that holds your cells together. Whether dysplasia is triggered by a virus, physical irritation or other cause, the fundamental problem is weak intercellular ground substance due to inadequate ascorbic acid." So - I decided to start taking 3-6 grams vitamin c daily. (If you're concerned about this check out the vitamin c foundation web pages & know that Linus Pauling took 6-18 grams daily!)
Since adding the vitamin c, the smell vanished! I'm playing it safe and not going more than a day without one swabbing, but it really doesn't seem necessary so.. I don't know - it's just so easy that I figure it's worth doing!
Best wishes to you all :)"
10/31/2009: C from Wylie, Tx replies: "They can do cryosurgery for cervical dysplasia. It's quick, easy and done in the drs office."
11/09/2009: Marilyn from Harpers Ferry, Wv replies: "povidone-iodine swabsticks, did you use this only in the entrance of the vayjay or insert it and leave it there in you vayjay for a couple of minutes? sorry I want to be sure how to use it."
12/13/2009: Mstommie from Orlando, Florida replies: "I have also been diagnosed with cervical dysplasia (abnormal cells on the cervix). When I was diagnosed 8 years ago I also had recurrent bv. I had a colposcopy which eliminated the cervical dysplasia and I had no problems with bv for 7 years. Recently I have had recurrent bv for about 6 months, additionally my PAP smear shows that the cervical dysplasia is back! My doctor tells me one has nothing to do with the other. Has anyone else experienced this?"
09/07/2012: Sarah from USA replies: "In lieu of povidine-iodine swabsticks, you can make your own povidine-iodine douches or purchase betadine(povidine iodine) feminine washes premade. It's an easy search online to find the studies showing this simple solution cured a majority of BV cases. The iodine is supposed to encourage the regrowth of lactobilli. To mstommie, you may be on to something with the correlation of HPV and BV. One seems to precipitate the other. I am 40 and had normal pap results until I had a BV infection and my pap came back abnormal.
In this study, gardnerella (BV) was linked to HPV. Very interesting. Keep that vaginal microbe balance healthy. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10887386"
Probiotics Treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis
Probiotics can be taken orally or vaginally to re-establish colonies of beneficial bacteria in the vaginal environment. Probiotic pills (they should be refrigerated!) are available that specifically target BV and similar conditions. Not all probiotics will have the same effect, so take your time in finding the right probiotic mix.

[YEA] 01/29/2013: Anonymous from Paramus, New Jersey: "BV has been something that has haunted me for years. It has caused many trips to the gyno, stunk up my sex life and even helped turn conception to a chemical pregnancy. It is really just an awful infection that can really embarrass and inconvenience a girl.
With that being said, I wanted to share with everyone how I have beat this thing! The last 2 weeks have been completely BV free. Woohoo!
I started with a trip to the gyno. She prescribed me metrogel (again) and I knew that if I really wanted this thing gone I would have to partner up with some other natural cures. I did some research and stocked up on probiotics. These little guys saved my lady parts. I started taking them right after I started the metrogel. My logic was that the meds would be killing ALL of the bacteria in my bod, so I needed to build up the good ones before the bad took over again.
I also decided to switch up my diet while on the meds just to help push my good bacteria over the edge. To do the same you would need to cut out processed sugars, booze and grains completely. Also, limit dairy, fruits, and caffeine. So basically I just ate veggies, lean proteins, yogurt and pure cranberry juice all week. It was a rough week, but it seemed to do the job. (:
A couple of other notes--
- I went out and bought Summers Eve PH wipes and shower gel from Walgreens. It seemed to help!
- When I have alot of sex or just got off of my period I take two probotics. One in the morning and one with dinner.
- The metrogel causes a yeast infection in most women. Just head to Walgreens and get the 3 or 7 day pack and keep doing what your doing.
- I still attempt to make healthy food choices, processed foods are out and green veggies in!
- I drink a small glass of Kefir in the morning, or eat a bunch of greek yogurt. Both are plain and unsweetened, but you could add a couple of berries to spice things up if you have a bad sweet tooth. I also drink pure cran juice whenever I can. Its pretty sour but if you cut it with sparkling water its not too bad. (:
- I now make my man clean up before we get intimate and I always shower with the PH wash after. Or if anything I'd use the PH wipes when in a bind. (Oh! And TMI-- I won't let him cum inside me anymore, sperm has a PH of 7 and our lady parts need to be at 4.5)
- I'm still taking the probotic every morning and hope one day to stop completely. But I figure that if I have to take this one small pill for the rest of my life to not have BV, I'm ok with that.
I hope this helps and works for you ladies!
Best Wishes! -A"
[YEA] 01/29/2013: Natural Cures from Orange County, California: "For the past three years I have been battling Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) that came out of nowhere. I have been given various antibiotics' in different dosages and for different times with the infection coming back a week or so after treatment. I have even taken a probiotic along with the antibiotic only to have the infection come back. I have used the Hydrogen Peroxide remedy only to find that it's a temporary fix and the symptoms return the next day. I finally was introduced by a new PA I went to visit to Luvena a new natural over the counter product that is available in most retail stores. I did some research here on your website and decided after three years of no cure to take several natural remedies together to see if they function and I have finally found something that works. All the products I purchased at a local Walmart and they are these: VH Essentials BV Treatment, Luvena Probiotic Vaginal Moisturizer Inserts, B-12 2, 500 mcg, Zinc 50 mg, Garlic 1000 mg, Folic Acid 800 mg, and UltimateFlora 15 Billion Probiotic in the yellow box.
I started my treatment after my period which is when symptoms flare up a bit more. And I started in the morning by taking my B-12 capsule and 1 garlic capsule. At night before I went to bed I inserted my VH Essentials BV Treatment vaginal suppository and placed a panty liner on my underwear because there is some discharge and took 2 Folic Acid capsules, 1 Zinc, 1 UltimateFlora Probiotic. During this time avoid any sexual activity which is roughly 6 days. After the VH Essentials BV treatment is finished continue taking the vitamin supplements and begin to use Luvena every 3 days during the night. Make sure you wear a pantyliner at night because the only bad thing about Luvena is that it drips. As I have stated continue to take all vitamin supplements and do Luvena once every three days.
I have been BV free for 3 weeks which is a record in itself because I have at the longest been only 1 week BV free. I'm very excited and I will continue this regimen until I feel that my vagina has reached it's normal level of flora. I hope everyone else that tries this has the same success because this infection has been nothing but negative to me."
01/04/2013: M from Dayton, Oh: "Hello ladies! I am finally BV free!!!! I found this site a few months ago and wanted to let everyone know how I got rid of the horrid thing. I had been fighting BV for about a year and half and could never get rid of it or it would just come back during the next menstrual cycle.... Which was sooo frustrating!! And now I haven't had BV in almost 3 months!! The key is to take Clindamycin 300 mg twice a day for 7 days. I would also recommend right when you start taking the antibiotics to also take 1 pill/day of Yeast Homeopathic Medicine (for possible yeast infection caused by antibiotic), 1 pill/day of Rephresh probiotic, and 1 pill/day of acidophilus (to help build the good bacteria back and to keep the pH level normal). I stopped taking the yeast medicine a couple of weeks after I had finished the Clindamycin and I just stopped taking the probiotics and next month I'll quit taking the acidophilus. I had tried just about everything for this and I believe that the Clindamycin was what finally killed it all off. I am so excited about this and I hope that it works for you all too!!! I will have an update in a couple of months after I stop taking the acidophilus to let you know how it goes! Good luck!!! :-)
P.S. If you still can't get rid of the BV and are still experiencing foul smelling discharge... Which, I know can be very embarrassing... Then take a probiotic pill everyday and it will help tremendously!"[YEA] 10/16/2012: Kymn from Tulsa, Ok: "I just wanted to let everyone know that my 15 year old had been taking an antibiotic for acne for about 7 months and wound up with BV. She was miserable with odor, discharge, all that. I searched and searched for her an answer and found out that it is a particular type of probiotic that you need (multi-strain). I wish I had the link but I found what she needed on vitamin website.
[Probiotics w/ Reuteri] capsuls
It cleared her up within 10-14 days. She was very happy and continued taking them for a couple of more weeks. No side effects. It has not returned. (She is no longer on that anti-biotic either)
Hope this helps! It did her!"
[YEA] 09/24/2012: Health Nut from Toronto, Ontario, Canada: "I'd like to begin by thanking everybody for posting your experiences. This site has been extremely helpful.
I first got BV at the end of November 2011. I had no idea what was wrong with me but I knew it wasn't a yeast infection and I knew it wasn't normal. I went to my family doctor as I recommend everyone should. She did not examine me but diagnosed me with BV and prescribed Flagyl. I took it as a vaginal suppository. It seemed to clear it up. I went to my gyno in January 2012 and had a test to be sure and unfortunately it was still there. Results came in just as symptoms came back. I now tried Flagyl in pill form. It made me quite ill but again seemed to clear it up. Again, that only seemed to last for a couple of months before symptoms were back. I did not want to be on antibiotics constantly or even every few months so I started looking at alternatives.
Thanks to this site, I found some. I started taking probiotics every day. I had taken them while on antibiotics but not after. So taking them daily was working but only as a control. As long as I remembered to take them, I was symptom free, but if I skipped a day, symptoms came back. I tried high doses for several days to see if I could regain balance, but again when I stopped taking them, the symptoms still came back. So I finally went back to my gyno, and she prescribed clindamycin as a cream to be used intravaginally. That was in late July 2012. I continued taking probiotics which you should do whenever taking any type of antibiotic. Symptoms disappeared. I went back about a month later and there was no BV!! But despite taking probiotics, I still ended up with a yeast infection. Hopefully the clindamycin will have taken care of it completely and it doesn't come back in a couple of months.
I will say, like most here, probiotics are a must. Your doctor may not have much to say about it, even mine said "It's not what we're taught", but BV and yeast are both about an imbalance of bacteria, and probiotics help maintain or restore that balance. I've continued taking them regularly and hope this is the end of BV for me. Best of luck to you all!"
06/03/2012: Sarah from San Jose, Ca: "After trying EVERYTHING for BV that lingered for more than a year and a half I tried using Femdophilus from the refrigerated section of Whole Foods. I took it by mouth twice a day, and then switched to vaginally, nothing happened. I inserted 7 or 10 tablets at once one day. Bam! Cured. No pain during sex, no dryness or itching. Completely better and such a relief! If you've tried everything I suggest you try a large dose of probiotics at once. It might be just what your vagina needs to combat gardnerella."
05/20/2012: Hopeful from San Jose, California, Usa: "I am so thankful for the tips/ experience that you all have shared! Although I feel frustrated and scared I also feel empowered to beat this thing! My bv symptoms aren't as bad as some of you have mentioned, mainly its just a weird nasty odor but I'm also concerned because I read that it can increase your chance of getting pelvic immflamatory disease which could lead to infertility. I am on implanon and have been in a relationship for four years, I am lucky because I told my bf about this and he's being great about it. Anyways, I mentioned being on implanon bc since I dont need to worry about pregnancy I let him ejaculate inside all the time. Now that I've researched BV I know that that is probably why I have it.
I'm trying to figure out a plan of action to get rid of this. I've already bought pro-biotics (Lactobacillus rhamnosus and rheuteri and acidophilus) along with that I plan on buying a 6 day treatment (vh) of vaginal inserts. My main question is whether or not I should use the prescription that my doctor gave me, it is a gel/lotion form of antibiotics (haven't actually gotten it yet from the pharmacy). I've read that for the most part the prescriptions have only helped temporarily for people followed by reccurence and/or yeast infections. This makes me not want to try the prescription if it will just kill all the bad and good bacteria in there and possibly lead me to a yeast infection. On the other hand, I am worried that there is too much bad bacteria in my vagina that's causing this and not taking the antibiotics would mean that the bad bacteria will remain in there. I haven't yet contacted my doctor about all this bc I forgot my online password and am waiting to get on in the mail, but as soon as I can I will, when I do though I'm a bit hesitant to follow my doctors advice since most doctors do not seem educated about causes or effective treatments for this. Any suggestions/ advice from you lovely ladies would be greatly appreciated!"
[YEA] 04/17/2012: Magicgirl from East Bay, Ca: "Ladies, there is an innovative, effective Vaginal Probiotic now on the market. It has excellent reviews, and the results are nothing short of miraculous! It's formulated for vaginal use, and is a super-concentrated blend of 11 probiotics specifically for use inside the vagina... No need to use oral probiotics "down there" ever again with this magical stuff! I rid myself of years of repeat BV and Yeast infections that prescriptions could not treat. I am so happy and confident again, and my sex life with my husband has returned... I could cry tears of joy! (btw, I buy mine on Amazon, but the company also has a very informative website where you can buy from too)"
Replies04/26/2012: "This is a very difficult product to find as it's fairly new on the market, but yes, FloraFemme is quite a rare find, as it's not carried in any stores. Treatment is nothing short of miraculous, and all women suffering form BV and/or Yeast should be made aware of it. I have no idea why Earth Clinic will not post the name of this life changing product for women to find and use? It's ashame really."
[YEA] 03/02/2012: Demi from Ny: "I just wanted to share my experience suffering with BV. I NEVER had a problem with vaginal infections in my life.... Until I took Prilosec. I did not suffer from acid reflux but gastrisis. I was told this mecidation was safe. However a month after starting it I noticed for the first time in my life, brown discharge. So I just want to throw this out there for woman who might be suffering from BV. GET OFF the anti acid medications... It messes with the natural balance of not only your stomach, but other organs... including female parts.
I still to this day have an on-off problem with BV despite discontinuing the drug over a year ago. Probiotics (fem-dolphis and Kefir milk), folic acid and wearing cotton underwear help me, but I've never been 100% normal."
01/12/2012: Lady Garden from Manchester, Uk: "Hello ladies, I may have to take back a few of the things I said previously. I admit that I may have been wrong about one or two things but...
I think I've found a something which will keep BV at bay and is not too messy and not expensive and seems to do a very good job indeed and there's no douching involved!! It's called lactobacillus Sporogenes and it's a supplement which comes in tablet form. I have been using it as a vaginal supository and a suplement for several days (one week after my period when things usualy get bad) and there has been no odor whatsoever. You can get a particular 'daily' one from a particular supplement brand with the initials 'H. N. ' (google it). I have been using one a night vaginally and also taking one/two a day. However it feels like I could use the one vaginally less regularly and things would still be fine. I intend to try that out and experiment after I've continued with my current dose for 14 days straight. I've read about lots of studies in which BV was cured after using two of these particular types of supplement two (morning and night) a day vaginally for 14 days. The tablets disolve completely with minimal sticky leakage. If you put one in at night it's completely dissolved/absorbed by the morning.
Even if it's necessary to use these tablets for the rest of my life at least I know I don't ever have to deal with the awful symptoms of this horrible condition.
Lactobacillus Sporogenes is a particularly hardy probiotic which, unlike many, can survive harsh stomach acid and colonise in the colon. I truly believe that probiotics are the things we need to focus on if we intend to conquer this problem and stop it from consuming our lives. More studies need to be done in this area as all the ones so far have shown very positive and promising results.
I really hope this helps others the way it seems to have helped me."
11/21/2011: Iris from Atlanta, Ga: "FEM DOPHILUS!!! Thank you Amy from Deltona, FL and this wonderful website!!! I have suffered for years with BV and have tried all the antibiotics given to me by my doctor only to have it return a few months later or right after sex. I stumbled on this website and tried most of the remedies. The peroxide worked on the symptoms but did not get rid of the problem and I was tired of douching all the time because I know it can't be healthy. Then I read a post from Amy from Deltona about Fem Dophilus. PLEASE TRY IT!! IT REALLY WORKS AND IS SIMPLE TO USE! I had sex (my main trigger for an outbreak). That same day I started taking 1 pill a day by mouth then 3 days later my period started (another trigger). So I took one in the morning and one at night before bed during my period. When I finished my period I did douche with peroxide one time just for a cleanse and continued to take 2 by mouth for the first 3 days after my period then cut down to 1 a day. I'm pleased to announce that it's been 2 weeks and NO SIGNS of the BV!!! Not everything works for everybody but this worked for me and may work for you. No mess no fuss and you can find it at whole foods or any health food store. I hope this helps and if it does please spread the good news and help another sufferer find happiness again!! Good luck and I hope you all find what works for you!!!"
11/20/2011: Th from Atlanta, Ga: "I've read that you can insert these pills vaginally. I was diagnosed about a month ago and after the anti-biotic didnt work I started researching. I inserted the pills but they didnt dissolve, so they didnt work. Anybody know how you're supposed to insert them? I opened the pills and added water and used it as a douche. Not quite sure if that was effective, but I just wanted to get something in my body quickly. I was taking like 6-8 pills a day!! I think the pills were 5 billion. I think my symptoms went away and have recently come back. My insurance has not kicked in at my new job and can't afford to spend another $120 to go back to the doctor. Any suggestions on how to use the pills vaginally? I just think they'll work quicker than orally."
Replies12/19/2011: Cybergal from Miami, Florida replies: "Buy Empty Gelatin Capsules - Size O -- Open probiotic capsules and put powder of two? three? in gelatin capsule -- which WILL disolve in Vagina --(probiotic capsules are sharp when broken)
I inserted a Boric Acid capsule (which I made myself, -- cheap - buy boric acid powder) Every Night for 20 years to cut back yeast infections."
