[YEA]  Angela from Syracuse, NY: "I have been anemic for 2 and half years now. I was told to take Iron pills. Well they didnt work one bit. Luckily I found this website while trying to find a natural cure for kydney damage and pancreatitis and came across the oil pulling. I read about it and even went to different sites to find out if it was true. Well everything I found sounded amazing so I went out and bought the sesame oil. The first day I took it I felt just a little better. The second day I felt 95% better than i've felt in a long time. I also had blood work done a few days ago and found out I am no longer anemic and not only that but my lipase enzyme levels were back to normal. All this change within a month. I absolutely swear by the oil pulling."

Pekmezi

[YEA]  12/08/2010: Demina from Athens, Greece: "It is very weird that no one here has never or so I think- mentioned the traditional grape molasses named pekmezi in Turkish or petimezi in Greek Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petimezi I guess that it is a local product and not widespread in other places in the world otherwise the page blackstrap molasses would have been a tiny sub page of this grapes molasses pages product.

Pekmezi is made by boiling down slowly for hours the first juice you get after crushing the grapes (the very first step for producing wine before any kind of fermentation) until this juice becomes a mild-thick black-brown sweet syrup. Actually in Greece we can do it in our own kitchen provided we find tons of fresh crushed grape juice. It is a difficult home procedure as we need "gallons" of this fresh juice to produce a bottle of pekmezi. There are a lot of wine producing countries in the world but I don't know if any others than the two above have also this product -well, lazy housewives ? :-)
Even wikipedia doesn't mention pekmezi in its "grapes" page as a grapes product (although there is a petimezi page, mentioned above)
If you just consider the raw material grapes- the grape molasses is far better than any other molasses. There are a lot of "grape" diets but non "sugar cane" ones, and there are a lot of health claims for grapes.

Anyway the grape molasses is so rich in iron too, that you can taste it. One spoon per day is the best home remedy for iron deficiency anemia. In Greece this was a must have remedy for young girls with heavy menstruation, actually not a remedy in a sense of healing the heavy menstruation, but in a sense of rebuilding the body the blood and the stamina. Pregnant women used to take it also. It was a material difficult to produce and every home had bottle as a medicine in its kitchen. I said was because the big pharma came and now the population has been brainwashed to take iron pills for anemia and millions of synthetic vitamins. Also as it is a have it all super food- when a small child was very ill and refused to eat we gave him a spoon of petimezi and we were sure that its body had all the necessary nutrients to combat illness and we didn't mind that the child refused to eat. I remember when I was 7 with chicken pox and 40Celsius for a week and I was saying "I'm dying" my mother gave me pekmezi and water as my sole food. I do not know in other countries what kind of food they feed (before the mass products appear) the very ill children when they refuse to eat but I suppose those exact foods would be the richest in nutrients foods available locally. Check on them in your country!"

I ate hand full morning, evening and night and after 2 weeks the doctor was in shock at how fast my iron level went up. SO PLEASE give it a go and let me know the results. GOOD LUCK."

12/03/2012: Anon from Anon replies: "Hi, If you take iron supplements you should take them with fresh orange juice for the vitamin c which helps with iron absorption. Do not drink any caffeinated drinks or alcohol. Bsm is full of iron, spiruella supplement is good. Eat red meat / eggs etc. You didn't say how anemic you are. I have been severly anemic in the past- there is alwYs a reason and this is important in recommending the cure. Why are you anemic? Where is the blood loss. When I was serverly anemic I was sleepy lot , every task exhausted me , I had heart palpitations , I was breathless and had weird cravings but no problem with my knees. Some conditions like cancer for eg cause anemia."
12/03/2012: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Rocky, An easy way to build the blood is with liquid chlorophyll. I was extremely anemic years ago and pregnant and my midwife warned me that if I did not bring my red blood cell count up, she would not deliver me. At the time I was working for a biochemist who created a line of vitamins and supplements. I told him my dilemma and he said chlorophyll would work immediately as it is the blood of the plants and when our body takes it in, it transposes it to red blood. I started taking it immediately and by the next visit, my midwife was astounded! She asked what I did and I told her and she said she would pass that on to others. I have helped many over the years who dealt with anemia. I hope this helps. Let us know if it works for you as successfully. Lisa"

12/04/2012: Mmsg from Somewhere, Europe replies: "Anon, you are right about Blackstrap Molasses. It cured anemia for me. One tablsp. In hot water topped up with soymilk, was my "coffee" then. I would take it twice a day, and when I felt stronger (usually after a week or so), I slowed down to once a day, and then to once in a while."
01/18/2013: Had from White River Jct, Vermont replies: "I also was having a very hard time, I did some research and I switched to non-irritating Iron (ferric pyrophosphate) and now take between 45-60 mg once a day w/ Vit C. I have no bad reaction to this. It is suppposed to be the most absorbable form of iron."

10/13/2012: Krisn from Portland, Oregon: "Hi Ted, I have shortness of breath, dizziness felt foggy. and general weakness The doctor checked me several times for iron deficiency and told me I was not anemic I was sent to see if it was asthma and that was negative. Ten mths later Ferritin level check revealed low level of 14. But the doctor never mentioned it was the reason for my symptoms. The only other vitamin that was low was potassium. Anyhow any idea on how to get ferritin levels to a higher level. I'm a ova- vegetarian."

10/13/2012: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Krisn, You can take chlorophyll and that will raise your ferritin levels. You can get liquid chlorophyll at the health food store. It is very effective because it is the "blood" of the plants and when we take it in, our bodies convert it to red blood cells for us. I was told this years ago when I was pregnant and had a very low iron count in which my midwife said she would not deliver me at home if I did not get that up quickly. At the time I was working with a biochemist and told him my predicament. He gave me this as a solution and the next visit, my midwife was astounded at how my numbers had changed. She asked me what I did to make that happen. Since then, I have given this solution to many friends. Hope this helps. Lisa"
10/14/2012: D M from Orlando, Fl replies: "For iron deficiency: whenever you eat an iron-rich food (i.e. , eggs, dark greens, legumes, dried raisins/apricots, black strap molasses) always consume a Vitamin C rich food (i.e. , citrus or other fruits, orange juice, red bell peppers, ascorbic acid/Vit. C tablets, even broccoli) in the same meal. Intake of iron is greatly enhanced when Vitamin C is taken at the same meal. Eat plenty of dark greens, beans, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and fruits while limiting intake of refined foods. Add iron-rich liquid nutrition (i.e. , green juices and nutritional drinks -- easily absorbed); take with Vitamin C. If your exercise regimen is very strenuous, you may wish to cut back (athletes sometimes test as being anemic--however this does not apply to the usual sedentary person). Best wishes! :)"
12/01/2012: Doug from Luperon, Puerto Plata Domnican Republic replies: "The answer for anemia is so simple it is laughable. In the old days they used iron pots to cook in and they had no anemia. Now we use aluminium and the problem starts. All you need to do is get a peace of iron and put it in the pot when you do your cooking. Put some iron nails in your juice for an hour before you drink it. Our family uses iron cook ware and since we started the anemia went away."
12/04/2012: A from Nha Trang, Vietnam replies: ""The answer for anemia is so simple it is laughable." But... May I say, without being rude, that to put and cook nails in the soup is, at the very least... Disgusting!"

09/17/2012: Lisa from Fort Lauderdale, Florida: "Hi, I recently turned and have low blood levels, needed a blood transfusion in 2010. My iron levels are going down again, how do I naturally increase my levels. Also, I need to know what's going on in my body, sometimes I have so much pain in my joints, it starts from my head and then my back, chest and legs. I am so frustrated wondering if that is what I have to look forward to in my older years. When I get the joint pains, I have blood in my urine. Please send me some home remedies. Thanks -"

09/17/2012: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Lisa, You could take liquid chlorophyll. I have used this successfully to rid anemia long ago. Since then, I have recommended this to several people- usually women, who have also used it successfully. It works rather quickly. Try it! Hope this helps. Lisa"
09/18/2012: Timh from Louisville, Ky, Usa replies: "Lisa from Florida, in addition to the chlorophyll that Lisa of Ca. suggested Ted's "Borax" remedy seems indicated for the joint pain, but do read up on it and other solution in the REMEDIES - AILMENTS - SUPPLEMENTS sections at the top of page; lots of info here."
09/18/2012: Heather from Leicester replies: "If I were you I would get the blood in urine checked out by a doctor- could be several things. Meanwhile Epsom Salt bath helps joint pain and BLack strap molasses helps both joint pain and anemia gradually. Try ACV and bicarb remedy too."

In the morning on empty stomach eat the rasins and fig slices chewing them thorouhly and drink the water in which they were soaked. It should help your wife to increase the Hemoglobin count. 08/24/2012: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Sanjeev, One of the quickest ways to build the red blood is with chlorophyll. Long ago when I was pregnant with my first child, I was so anemic that my midwife told me if I didn't bring my red blood cell count up, I would not be allowed to have my baby at home. At the time, I was working with a biochemist and was telling him my story. He told me to drink this and I would be fine in no time. I began taking liquid chlorophyll from the health food store. Sure enough, my midwife was thrilled to see the change on my next visit! Since then, I have helped quite a few women with that tip. They have all seen the results. Hope this helps, Lisa"
08/25/2012: Timh from Louisville, Ky, Usa replies: "This is good news for those who don't happen to have Blackstrap Molasses in their cupboard. Raw Liver Tablets is also good for blood building. Evidently the chlorophyll molecule is near identical to a red blood cell (erythrocyte) which explains the benefit. As for conjunctive therapy, 1hr daily Love 528 harmonics or music should sync w/ the chlorophyll as they share the same frequency (528 hz)."
08/25/2012: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Timh, Oh, I did forget to add that the way the biochemist described this to me was, the chlorophyll is the blood of the plant so when we take it in, our body converts it to red blood. The similarities between chlorophyll and hemoglobin are impressive. Thanks for reminding me to add this in, Lisa"

I am going to try the apple cider vinegar. I have already started using the kind with the mother in it. They say it is the best. I have to use iron supplements as well and I just wanted to let you know that I use an iron supplement that works really well for me and it is called "Blood Builder" from a place called Wellness. Iron supplements make me really sick but this one usually does really good for me. I still have to take food though before I take any kind of supplements. I always have. When I first started using the "Blood Builder" iron supplement my blood was really low and when I went back to the doctor to have it rechecked they could not get over how great my blood was. They were thrilled. They told me they had never seen it that good before. I really like them and just wanted to let all of you know in case you may want to try something different."

Vitamin E Deficiency

[YEA]  "Vitamin E deficiency may cause anemia, as a result of red blood cell destruction and neurological dysfunction, myopathies, and diminished erythrocyte life span. New clinical evidence from heavy drinkers suggests that alcohol may increase oxidation of Alpha-Tocopherol. Increased demand has also been observed in premature infants and patients with malabsorption."
