PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS SOURCE OF ALLERGIES?

01/13/2012: J from Anonymous writes: "Hi Ted, Re: Phenolic compounds. If you have a minute you could let us know what you think.

Dr. Gardner, around 1980 found a lot of allergies were due to Phenolic food compounds and worked out a neutralizing program. Recently, most of the information from internet maintains phenolics are good for you. Most foods have them and some much more than others. These days I am suspicious of modern marketing wanting money over facts. So, what do you think? Are some not so good for us? Kind Regards."

01/13/2012: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Actually the results on such treatment is not good. You get more fantastic results if you do the antifungals treatment from your known nutritional deficiencies such as B3 niacinamide, sodium molybdate, borax, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. The other is to reduce sugar, fructose and artificial sugar, which makes it worse. Unfortunately for me they don't make money, but you do make more money selling things that don't cure, look at the pharma drugs!

ALLERGIES, KERATOSIS PILARIS

12/20/2011: K from Anonymous writes: "Hi Parhatsathid, I need help with some of my health issues. For the last 4 years I've developed a lot of allergies (environmental/food) and they keep getting worse and worse. I'm taking anti-histamines, nasal sprays, and singulair (stopped taking it). Yet I get no relief. I've got my allergist telling me I don't have food intolerances/allergies, yet every time I eat something my body doesn't agree with I will get a rash, itchy pringly skin, my keratosis pilaris will flare up, my nose will get stuffy, my eyes will get itchy and my sinuses will feel a lot of pressure. It feels like I'm running out of foods to eat.

I've been reading on earth clinic that it's important to balance your bodies PH levels, and eat a plant based diet which I've been doing for the last 4 years. I eat a variety of veggies, fruits, beans, nuts/seeds, grains and very little meat and fish yet my body seems incapable of healing itself. I find it weird that I can eat so healthy yet feel no benefits from it. My skin is very dry and I have keratosis pilaris all over my legs, which is weird because I get good sources of omega 3 from flax seed and walnuts. It seems like my body is not absorbing nutrients properly, and I feel like theirs more to it. I've been trying for so long to get healthy, I want to feel good when I wake up and not have tons of pressure around my sinuses and lots of phlegm at the back of my throat. My problems have also caused my mental health issues, depression, anxiety and OCD. I've gone to so many doctors, allergist and naturopaths yet here I am sick as when I started trying to find a way to fix myself. It is destroying my life. What do I do? What supplements do I take to eliminate my allergies and fix my skin? Please help me because I am totally lost.

I would give up everything I own just to feel healthy mentally and physically. Thanks."

01/12/2012: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Well for one thing did you try sodium bicarbonate 1/3 teaspoon after meals 30 minutes twice a day? That would help. But people with a fungus circulating in the system, it makes your entire system sick and unable to heal itself too. What's missing in the diets is the molydenum, in the form of sodium molybdate. One pinch would do and it takes about one month of taking that, boron is the other one taken at 1/8 teaspoon of that mixed in 1 liter of water. The fungus can get killed if one capful of 3% hydrogen peroxide is mixed in 1 liter of drinking water, but because your body is so toxic it must be given once every two days, then once the body can accept that, for one week or two then take once every day for 5 days and 2 days off would be the schedule I would try.

The other need is for trace minerals that can be taken at the same time, you can prepare your own or buy commercially, but their formulations are not the same as mine. In order to mix a humic acid solution is 500 cc bottle water, and 1 level tablespoon of humic acid, 1 level teaspoon of sodium thiosulfate, and 1 level tablespoon of sea salt. Shake and mix the solution well. Then place 2 or 3 capfuls in 1 liter of drinking water with or without hydrogen peroxide, this will help your immune system. If low on energy 0.1% methylene blue 4 drops in the morning and four drops in the afternoon should get your energy up and boost the immune system. The immune system picks up from hydrogen peroxide and humic acid.

I will tell you a story, several years back I experimented with humic acid, one of my students had all kinds of problems, but she was to study abroad, in India for several years, and the mix of humic acid is the ones shown here. Everybody got sick during that year she was there, but she was the only one that was not sick not even one day did she have a cold. But once she came back to Thailand for the next few years, it progressively got worse until deadly, although she didn't die but it was about to take her life. So I gave a mixture which is primarily humic acid solution she used about 5 capful humic acid solution in 500 cc of water and she drank about half of that, and immediately the conditions subsided the next day she was well. There is another case, a woman who was seriously immune compromised came to me with a terrible headache and sinus obstruction but this time I needed a quick cure, as she was nearing hospitalization in the next hour, so methylene blue 0.1% 15 drops, hydrogen peroxide 3% capful in 1 liter of drinking water, and humic acid one capful. Immediately the condition subsided in 45 minutes and must be taken 30 minutes interval for 4 doses to get rid of it, Well she was already healthy by 45 minutes to go visit a family member and other things she had to do. Well, I won't bore you with too many stories, but this humic acid took years in research just to prove it works. And it does work and that came from just humic acid.

IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE TO USE FOR CITIC ACID?

10/10/2011: Sunny from Darwin, Australia writes: "Question for Ted on CITRIC ACID

Hi Ted like Debra, I also react badly to Citric Acid and anything with lemons in it. I know that I have suffered from numerous food sensitivites for years and would like to also know how I can cure this. I also tried taking citric acid and had to stop due to my nose blocking.

Can you recommend another remedy for people like us that are unable to take your citric acid remedy??

Do you think lemons are a food that we will be able to tolerate after detoxing. Lemons are so good for you!!

Also I am unable to get sodium thiosulfate. Would borax and sea salt do the same job as sodium thiosulfate??? I know I do have a toxic system with heavy metals in it.

Thank you for your great work Ted. You certainly helps thousands of people.

Regards Sunny"

HELP WITH FOOD AND AIRBORNE ALLERGIES

08/21/2011: Anonymous from Anonymous writes: "Hi Ted,

I'm 22 and I suffer with many food and airborne allergies. I came across earthclinic when looking for natural remedies to cure/lessen allergies. I saw a whole bunch of success stories of people using apple cider vinegar to alleviate there symptoms, so for the past two days I've been having 2 tbs to 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. I do notice a difference, but I know it takes the body a decent amount of time to heal so I plan to continue taking ACV for a few months to see if it works.

Allergies are ruling my life and making me miserable. They have lead to my depression and anxiety. I have sinusitis (always have big dark circles under my eyes), dry itchy skin, keratosis pilaris, acne. I will break out in skin rashes when I eat something I'm intolerant/allergic too, or when I'm around airborne allergies. My body always feels inflamed, it's terrible. It's hard for me to function and when people say it's all in my head it only makes me worse. This has been going on for close to 5 years now, and I know it was because of my terrible eating habits and the many antibiotics I've taken for acne. For the last 2 years I've changed my diet to a plant based foods. Lots of veggies, fruits, nuts/seeds, grains and some meat. They have helped with some aspects of my life but not my allergies. I have been seeking for a cure and I thought I could do it through diet. It doesn't seem to be enough. I've been to all sorts of naturopaths, doctors, allergist but none of them can help me. It's cost me a fortune and it seems like I'm missing something.

I read about you in the "About us" section on earthclinic and have read various of you posts. I saw in your mini write up that your dad was able to cure his sinus infection through taking large doses of vitamin C. When I saw that it gave me some hope. I did some more reading about people curing there allergies by doing the same. A naturopath I saw said take as much vitamin C until you have loose stools, then lessen the dose. That leads me to my questions.

1. Is there a specific kind of vitamin C I need to take?
2. Is there any other supplements I should take to get rid of my allergies? I also take a multivitamin and acidophilus.
3. How should I take Vitamin C? All at once or 3 times a day taking X amount of pills?
4. Should I keep taking ACV if I'm taking large doses of vit c?
5. I have a lot of food intolerances/allergies, how is it even possible to eat a healthy diet when your allergic to so many healthy things? Do you just ignore it and eat it anyways and get to the root of the problem?
6. I work on a construction site which is always dusty and the air is always full of other nasty things, would it be best to quit or will it not matter when I start taking the right supplements?

I would be so thankful if you could give me some answers on how to rid myself of allergies. Its been a huge burden.

Thanks for your time."

08/21/2011: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "There is a couple of basics of allergies that needs to be covered:
1. The body's acidity determines the level of allergy. For example, the more acidity you are the more allergies you get. Since nerves are "overstimulated" the same is true for people who don't sleep, but with overstimulation, they also get allergies, but other conditions unrelated are also the same, hyperactivity, inflammation, overactivity, etc. 2. The diets are high in glutamic acid and aspartic acid, and somewhat high in phenylalanine, and perhaps low in histidine. These imbalance creates an excitotoxicity, combined with sugar, especially ribose, fructose, glucose, but especially the general nature of diets high in carbohydrates. These create an ideal environment for allergies.
3. Runny nose and overstimulated can instantly be reduced with sea salt, so these people with allergies may in fact be low in sea salt diets. A table salt would not do, as it is "acid" in nature. It's pH is around 5, while sea salt it is closer to 7.0 to 7.5 pH. Should I have this symptoms 1/4 teaspoon in one cup of water will reduce runny nose in less then 5 minutes.
4. Certain supplements may lower allergies such as vitamin C, but it is related to diets are low in lysine, glycine, proline, which has to do with your protective collagen that protects you against allergy in the first place. So a person with a genetic deficiency having to do with collagen has a potential for allergies. This can easily be alleviated by lysine, proline, glycine and vitamin C. The collagen nutrients.
5. There are certain people who has some sort of irritant, and that causes their lungs to contract and produce a collagen, due to the environment, some are sensitive to benzene and react strongly to these because their body lack certain oil solubility to get rid of these benzene (gasoline is the same) in their system that means the detoxing mechanism is lacking in N acetyl Cysteine, which in combination with glycine and glutamine create glutathione, responsible for detoxing. But humans I found is amazingly low in B3 and selenium, these are also necessary for detoxing especially selenium, which is necessary for producing glutathione to counteract the allergens.
6. Enzymes in the body is necessary, to break apart the protein sequences that are foreign in the body that produces the allergen. So taking a simple bromelain, pancreatin, and other enzymes will break these protein down. There are cancer cells that create these foreign protein too, that will cause irritation and causes the liver to overworked detoxing.
7. Tannic acid will make or cause deactivation of protein circulating the the blood to lessen. So you get less circulating allergen proteins.
8. Fungus is a common allergen protein too, that's mostly found in construction sites and these do cause it as much as pollen, but I see more of the black mold or those found in clothes that's washed, but hasn't been dried properly to contain the allergen needed to stimulate allergy, I have it myself when this fungus mold, usually invisible and you cannot even smell it, but when you do, you get terrible sneeze so it's there. The easiest preventive method is to get ammonium chloride solution, say 5 or 10% and spray very lightly is enough to kill them and so is your sneeze. You can spray the premises to get rid of this also, and a little goes a long way.

When a person also has acne with the allergy, it means there are too high of undigested proteins circulating the body and then the body doesn't function, there is too much of the foreign protein but also sugar and fruit sugar only puts fuel to the fire, as in the case of fungus in the body too, such as aspergilis niger. A person who has not been exposed can caused deadly allergies such as peanut allergy, this can be dealt with a homeopathic remedy of the allergen so the body can learn, but is rejected my mainstream medicine in favor of very dilute solutions of allergens, I think is same thing. So the body learns from that. The one thing I like to tell you is that drinking tea, without caffeine, such as white tea lowers the allergy because it is the tannic acid that deactivates them, enzymes does that by digestion, liver does that by detoxing with glutathione, etc.

I could go on forever, with this, but answer to your questions:

1. Is there a specific kind of vitamin C I need to take?

I would try sodium ascorbate. They are alkaline form of ascorbic acid.

2. Is there any other supplements I should take to get rid of my allergies? I also take a multivitamin and acidophilus.

Multivitamin would help very little, acidophilus would help especially after antibiotics, but no permanent and lasting thing. I will concentrate on N Acetyl Cysteine, 250 mg, twice a day and Enzymes, very strong ones. I make my own and it's 10% bromelain 6500 GDU, but that's only bromelain, but it helps if there is other enzymes too. Bromelain is my cure for acne as well as other people I see here.

DO NOT TAKE ACCUTANE, or other names (isoretinion) it can lead to life long autoimmunity and allergy buildup by decreasing sebaceous glands and intestinal villi, that decreases the ability to get rid of toxins and it causes all kinds of autoimmunity at leads to lifelong disability. Acne is simply too much fats build up in your system as a result of dietary choices e.g. potato chips, chocolate, fried chicken, etc. Bromelain and lipase taken everyday would reduces this issue just the same without the side effects, and change your diet!

3. How should I take Vitamin C? All at once or 3 times a day taking X amount of pills?

First thing in morning sea salt 1/4 teaspoon in a cup of warm water. This will reduce runny nose instantly. Then I will start vitamin C. 500 x 6 is a good one. But to create collagen responsible for protective effects consider lysine, glycine, and proline, especially lysine and glycine. Glycine binds to fat cells and it helps with immune response and reduces to some extent acne too.

4. Should I keep taking ACV if I'm taking large doses of vit c?
You can, take it, but also consider lime and baking soda remedy too. Its effect is very different, but has synergism on allergies, for example the lemon oil content, d limonene dissolves oils that has to do with the acne.

5. I have a lot of food intolerances/allergies, how is it even possible to eat a healthy diet when your allergic to so many healthy things? Do you just ignore it and eat it anyways and get to the root of the problem?

Your body is not alkaline enough and there's not enough of lysine, N acetyl cysteine and selenium for one. Years ago I participated in a forum to cure this by just alkaline a group of autistic children and ADHD, because part of the problem has to do with food allergies and one of them can only consume 4 food items out of possible 100 items. When they were just given baking soda, after meals twice times a day, 1/8 or 1/4 teaspoon for 2 to 3 weeks, they were able to eat most of the food. The other remedy is lime, 2 tablespoon and 1/4 baking soda or 1/2 baking soda, mixed in water and drink two times a day. The newer remedy I might use also white tea also, as it has no caffeine and a lot of antioxidants.

6. I work on a construction site which is always dusty and the air is always full of other nasty things, would it be best to quit or will it not matter when I start taking the right supplements?

First of all get the body alkaline first, 1/2 teaspoon after meals twice a day for two weeks. Then if there is no further reduction in allergies within 1 month then I might try to avoid it altogether.

The allergy is a big topic and I only scratched the surface.

If they do little help for clarithin used in treatment of allergy, and singular used treatment of asthma, then it is useless, unless it helps. You can take apple cider vinegar and baking soda, or baking soda, either. If you want to take all two remedy, it can be scheduled as apple cider vinegar and baking soda in morning and lunch, and baking soda at before sleep or night time.

Anonymous replies: " Hi Ted, I recently sent you an email regarding my allergies. If you don't mind answering a few more of my questions I would be grateful.

1. I take ACV with 1/2 tsp of baking soda 3 times a day. I also take 1/8 teaspoon after two meals each day (usually the more acidic meals). And I also take 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 2 tbs twice a day. Is this to much baking soda? What should I reduce if it is?

2. How long does taking ACV, baking soda and lime take to improve allergies? I've done it for about 6 days and I do notice it helps a little. Is it going to take a few months to heal my sinusitis?

3. Is there any other supplements I should take along with the ACV/baking soda/lime treatment?

4. I took accutane when I was younger. I wasn't on it for long. Is this going to reduce my chances of eliminating my allergies?"

Ted responds to Anonymous "1.

Notice your symptoms if its less. Baking soda if taken say 1/2 teaspoon a day, to get properly alkalized takes about 2 weeks. But there may be other factors.

2. How long does taking ACV, baking soda and lime take to improve allergies? I've done it for about 6 days and I do notice it helps a little. Is it going to take a few months to heal my sinusitis?

It takes 2 weeks. If not take lysine 1/2 teaspoon twice a day. The allergies can be due to a couple of things, lack of collagen protection (lysine will help there), hypersensitivity to allergen (alkaline remedies taken for 2 weeks should help or green tea extract), lack of electrolytes (usually sea salt will help, in an instant), heavy metal toxicity (chlorella will help there), over nervous or anxiety (B3 niacinamide NOT niacin), and strength of cellular integrity (bee propolis, Red wine extract, grape seed extract).

3. Is there any other supplements I should take along with the ACV/baking soda/lime treatment?

More then you think see above.

4. I took accutane when I was younger. I wasn't on it for long. Is this going to reduce my chances of eliminating my allergies?

Yes, it makes your intestinal villi decreased so you cannot detox. Gum arabic maybe 20 grams a day, or just oat bran or rice bran will help.

SON WITH NUMEROUS FOOD ALLERGIES

04/21/2011: M. writes: "Hi Ted, Thank you very much for the invaluable advice you give to us readers of earth clinic (EC) on so many diverse areas. I find your areas of research on using simple chemicals to cure inspiring and hope one day you will publish your findings. I just posted a query regarding my son's allergy on EC before I found out that I could email you directly. You must be swamped with numerous queries from all over the world, but I do hope you can find time to answer this one :-)

As mentioned on my post, my 2nd son who is now 16 months old, has numerous allergies: Tuna, all beans, chicken, dairy (cow & goat), several types of fish, oysters/seafood, oats, almonds, sesame, cranberry etc etc. He is fully breastfed, but as much as I try to avoid potentially allergenic food, it's not easy to find out what the cooks use in the food when I eat out! He gets allergic even to food in my breastmilk, so it is often that Sam ends up waking up every 2-3 hours through the night, crying and not feeling good enough to sleep. He is way below average in height and weight though he is bright and smiley when he is well. To treat his allergies, the only things he take are the enzymes that the cranial oesthopath/nutritionist he sees gives him. I take lots of digestive enzymes in hope that the food in my breastmilk is less allergenic to him. I would appreciate your advice on how to cure him of his allergies and the dosage applicable to such a wee one.

I suspect my elder son (3.5 years old) is also allergic to something because he has a runny nose with clear, liquid mucous on many days but he is otherwise healthy. At first, I wondered why he keeps getting the flu, then I realised it was not the flu, but the runny nose becomes infected and he gets a cough from the back drip. Would Nat's allergies be cured with the same antidote as Sam? Another query I have is regarding giving vitamin supplements to my 2 boys. You mentioned in several posts that it is better to rest for 3 days after taking oils for 4 days. Does this apply to vitamin supplements too? I have been giving my 2 boys 1 tsp elderberry, 1 tsp cod liver oil and 2000mg of D3, 1 tsp coconut oil every day, and 250mg of sodium ascorbate for Vitamin C. Somehow they still fall sick.

Lastly, (actually I have lots of questions but will control myself), with regards to Vitamin C, do chemical vitamins, e.g. sodium ascorbate/ ascorbic acid, work as well as wholefood vitamins (e.g. brands like megafoods, garden of life), or is there any difference? I believe strongly in not vaccinating my boys and have not given them antibiotics. I use propolis to fight infections. Hence, I read with great interest in the work you do. I wish you all the best, as I believe that your best will benefit the world greatly. Thank you so much"

04/28/2011: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Allergies happen more in cities primarily because people are not exposed to hay rather than bugs which makes people more immune. Beta glucan or a close substitute brewer's yeast. or barley will increase their immunity. But the way I give them is in powder form sprinkled light into foods and some in powder form such as 1/16 to 1/8 teaspoon primarily in morning and lunch time. It will activate their immune system. It should be noted that it should be first introduce in small amounts before increasing dose so that the body can handle it and develops its own immune system.

The other is B3 niacinamide will help the body immune systems also. For children dose 250 mg given in the night. If it develops allergy in the day time then it is also given in the day, such as 3 times a day.

The allergy is also caused by the fact that the body doesn't produce as much antioxidants especially glutathione. The best form of glutathione is N acetyl cysteine. For children's dose it requires 250 mg taken at 4 times a day. In case this doesn't work as well, prepare to give him two more things, glutamine 250 mg and glycine 250 mg. It s the more complete version of glutathione. Glutathione is not taken directly so N acetyl cysteine is used instead.

As for constant runny nose it's 1/4 teaspoon in 1/2 glass of water. Drink this and the runny nose will go away. The reason is simple: sea salt makes the nose more dry and hence it works better than any other medication out there.

Finally, alkalization 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda once a day after meals with 1/2 glass of water about 30 minutes after meal will generally help,

Vitamin C is preferred as sodium ascorbate or potassium ascorbate. The reason is generally other ones tend to add calcium, which generally make conditions worse rather than better.

Ted"

05/05/2011: M. replies: "Dear Ted, Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Greatly appreciate your advice.

I've started to give my boys barley water more regularly and will introduce some barley mixed into their daily meal on a regular basis. I've also ordered Vit B complex and baking powder. Will let you know how it goes after they start on it. I'm not sure where to find gutathione/glutamine/glycine but will try to find similar antioxidants. The sea salt solution does not seem to be working with my elder son though. He's been on it for a couple of days but the nose is still running. The solution is really salty so I add in more water so that he finishes it.

Thanks, and blessings be with you."

Ted replies, "Take the L Histidine if the runny nose is still there.""

3 YEAR OLD WITH STUFFED UP NOSE ALL YEAR LONG

07/08/2009: J. writes: "I have a 3 year old daughter. After my friend met her she insisted to contact you for a help. My daughter was born in Denver Colorado USA (dry climate). She had eczema which is mostly gone. But she also has literally all year long stuffed and runny nose. First I thought she got cold but it never went away. She sneezes many times a day with huge amount of mucus coming out and blows her nose. Her nose seems itchy since she rubs it and she seems to be in a great discomfort. She cannot breathe with her nose and talks like she got cold. About a year ago we moved to Montreal Canada (humid climate) and it seems that it got worse. No allergy medications make any difference or better and doctors say that her condition is normal. If you could tell me what you think I would really appreciate that. Thank you for your time and help."

07/08/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "A simple remedy that seems to help reduce the runny nose and reduce some of the allergy that works in most people is the simple sea salt. A mild remedy such as putting 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt in one liter of drinking water when the person is having problem will usually go away in a day. Thereafter the sea salt is added at only 1/4 teaspoon per liter of drinking water for maintenance is helpful. For adult dose, and a quick remedy I have used between 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon in a cup of water, usually taken once, but is possible to take it again the next day to stop the runny nose. The cup of water with sea salt is drank, not put into the nose, which is a common mistake and often causes more runny nose if done that way."

SWOLLEN EYE LID RELATED TO ALLERGIES?

06/02/2008: Marian writes: "I have for a few years had a swollen eye lid on my left eye sometimes. Now yesterday my right eye is now swollen and feels bruised it hurts. a little itchy too. I have been doing the apple cider vinegar braggs, also cayenne and yesterday a little h2o2 and cinnamon and raw garlic organic. i have stopped eating meat (two weeks ago) and only eating eggs occasionally and seafood. Do you have any idea i do have allergies. I also want to thank you for all the wonderful ideas you saved my dogs life. And saved us a fortune on vet bills. So Thank you very much."

06/02/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Marian:

Assuming a swollen eyes or eyelids are due to allergies, which is often due to past exposure to fungus, but once it enters the system, recurring eczema that won't go away starts happening, even after the fungus and molds were no longer their. However, certain triggers can cause skin problems such as excessive aromatic oils, in particular, peppermints and perfumes, such as aldehydic perfumes, which is common in many perfumery products, and fragrances added. The best remedy I used is not to use toothpaste at all, which is a small fortune for me if I buy a commercial one, but they also added a known toxin, such as fluoride, and sometimes once used aluminum, which causes the body absorption to aluminum raised by 600% whenever fluoride are present and even more so if the water chlorine is present too. Therefore I would avoid excessive uses of vegetable oils, eating too much or drinking too much fruit juices, avoid potatoes, since there is a fungus toxins present, aspartame is a big problem now causing unexplained skin problem, in particular the eyes. Of concern is not to use excessive creams and oils, especially facial creams. As a note that, my friend of mine who is an enthusiastic user of facial creams told me that her eyes was swollen with "unexplained" pimple like bumps to occur. Those come from oily creams which prevents the body's sweat from coming out causing these bumps and swollen area. Obviously if the sweat cannot be removed because some oily ways substance such as facial creams, eye mascara especially are used, they prevent the body's sweat, and excessive oils from removal as these eye mascara creates a waxy oily oil from such removal causing swollen eyelids. Therefore stoppage of these will usually go away, slowly over the course of a month.

Unfortunately a long term exposure to facial creams, oils mascara, can cause the fats in the face and eyelids to harden, furthering the problem. Thus some reduction is possible, assuming the liver is also congested with excessive fats, rancid fats that accumulates in the body over the lifetime, causing fatty liver buildup. The major cause of these I have found is always the vegetable oils that has undergone rancidity, within minutes as a result of cooking, where many of these vegetable oils have low melting temperatures. The worse of these is liquid at room temperate, and if they undergone cooking, the become oxidized, which is rancid. Once these rancid oxidized oils enters the system, it accumulates in the body causing congested liver, fatty liver, but quite possibly excessive waxy and oily buildup whic may lead to too much LDL cholesterol and other fatty buildup leading to a swollen eye condition. Therefore avoiding the heating of foods with vegetable oils, especially microwave ovens, frozen dinner, and fried food are the main source of the problem. The body have a low tolerance to these kinds of food and even worse whenever it is a potato chips for french fries as these also have a cancer causing compounds, and these same compounds may damage the liver, causing congested liver, leading to a swollen eye condition that I have noted many times in people who eat too much before they sleep or not enough sleep and eat very late in the evening. All these are liver problems. As a result a common remedy to remove excessive fats, are the fat emulsifiers, such as granulated lecithin, 1 tablespoon three times a day on an empty stomach. These fat emulsifier should help reduce the bottleneck in the gall bladder of excessive oils that i has to manage, that in the long run leads to a gall bladder problem. A removal of that can even worsen the fatty buildup, leading to a liver problem again. The other supplements that has fat dissolving capability
resembling a weak detergent effects includes baking soda and sodium carbonate (washing soda) by alkalizing the body. The scientist call this the carbicarb remedies used in reviving stroke victims to prevent damages to the brain due to carbon dioxide buildup, especially the sodium carbonate. The remedy can be a simple mild remedy to a stronger remedy, that I like since both of these remedy seems to relieve liver congestion, even so with an alkaline form of EDTA, but that's beyond this email. A simpler one is likely either one of these, second one is better, of course:

1. 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water at least taken twice a day. The body can cleanse itself if a drinking water is added with (preferably) using Reverse Osmosis water with 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt in one liter of drinking water plus 1/16 teaspoon of baking soda. Both of these have a liver cleansing effect. Most of the remedies used in internet these days calling themselves a liver cleanser actually clogs the liver since certain formulation uses oils, which congests the liver. An obvious liver cleanser at least from the chemistry point of view are alkaline chemicals that is already found in the body's physiology such as sodium bicarbonate, but the body naturally accepts sodium carbonate too, by reacting with readily available Carbon dioxide gas to form sodium bicarbonate still. It has the effect of removing the carbon dioxide waste from the body, which will aid in healing. But most recognized is the sulfactant properties of sodium bicarbonate, but especially
the sodium carbonate, that has a cleansing effect in the body, but especially the liver, along with granulated lecithin, which should relieve the swollen eye problems too. Hard wax are slower to remove, but taking some vitamin E will reduce some newer formation of oxidized oil too.

It should be noted that the single most important properties of the sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate is its superior ability in reducing eczema caused by metabolic acidosis, as well as killing off fungus pathogens and will reduce this problem in matter of hours, for skin inflammation problems, and at least for me I need not resort to even need to take any anti-inflammatory drugs. The society today is far too reliant on the pharma drugs. As for me, I don't need to use any at all.

Finally U.S. dietary patterns due to industrialized farming practices that changed in the past 50 years from a ratio of 1:2 or 1: 1 on omega 3 to omega 6, has now been 1:20 ratio on omega 3 to omega 6. The primary actions of omega 3 (often referred to as Type 2, called DHA and EPA - is only found in fish oils NOT cod liver oil). I prefer the fish oil or salmon fish oils myself. These will reduce the problem imbalance which is what is causing all these inflammatory disease. As for me I take 1000 mg x 2 a day usually once every other day. The body has a low tolerance for oils, but since omega 3 is low anyway, I can take the modestly at once every other day, while avoiding the use of vegetable oils in frying and cooking. Frying an egg, sunny side up is not that bad (although not great either), but boiling eggs where the egg yolk is liquid and discarding the whites are a better way since the white eggs are anti-nutrient as in blocks the absorption of lecithin, HDL, biotin found
in yellow egg yolk, which is seen as helpful to the liver from the lecithin content found in the yellow yolk portion.

Cheese is a form of hard fat, but diary products also lead to problems too. Avoiding peppermint oil added to toothpastes also reduces some skin problems and replaced them with baking soda and sodium carbonate as a tooth powder, or toothpaste powder if water was added to a pasty compound. It helps a little by adding some sea salt to further antibiotic properties of hyper osmolarity in the salinity of the toothpaste powder formulation.

Hopefully this might cover some of the cause of swollen eyelids from food causes and food allergies, and certain body imbalances of metabolic acidosis.

Ted"

FOOD ALLERGIES

04/21/2008: L writes: "Hi Ted, I haven't been able yet to read everything on your site.. However, I can say that I have noticed myself similar symptoms but not only with ice cream other processed foods.. It is very hard to live a life of no processed foods unless you just don't eat anywhere but home.. Especially pizza too! I was really thinking of finding a way to test for food allergies... My oldest daughter had reactions to food dye and she is 21 and that was when she was 1 1/2 years old. I will continue to read your site.. Thanks"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Lisa:

Prepared food are the major problems. I remember that American Indians were relatively diabetes free, until of course a supermarket is opened and within two years diabetes start coming. So even if we don't know where it is coming from, it it is certainly processed foods. Aspartame is the latest one found in processed and I read a woman was wrongly convicted of murder 50 years after her husband took sugar free Gatorade and Creatine. The aspartame in sugar free products and creatine is a deadly combination, it raises the blood methanol and formaldehyde so high enough to kill a person. Creatine causes retention in water in muscles, while aspartame breaks down into methanol and further more formaldehyde in presences of body enzyme, such as trypsin. Interestingly both sodium benzoate (which degrades to benzene) in acid medium such as Coke, methanol found in the blood after drinking, destroys the neural endocrine system, by causing metabolic acidosis, which in turn causes diabetes. Obviously any hydrocarbons, in particular the ones mentioned here, but this includes anti-knock cadmium (found in gasoline) goes and destroy the system too. This is why painters die early from thinner use and often have diabetes. The paint thinners destroy the neuroendocrine system, which controls the blood sugar.

Most allergy to food coloring is red food dye #2 (carmine or cochineal extract) comes from dried cochineal bugs in South America or Canary Island. There are hyperactivity, and other reactions from eating it.

The other problem is yellow food dye #5 tartrazine and blue dye #1, also have problems.

As to getting food allergy tests, there are many methods of finding food allergies, some are accurate some are not. One way to distinguish real information from disinformation by local authorities is to check whether the listed allergies you do know confirms their own tests or findings.

A conventional method of test is expensive through using patch test, but that's only if you DON'T know what they are. It is a lot easier, that I put on our own skin, or eat them one at a time to find out than go to the hospital to do the same thing and I can never afford their hospital bills.

A newer electro dermal scanning are fast, but to tell whether their system works or not is to double and triple check to see whether the response for each vials are the same - without the person knowing what the name bottle of vials are until the results are in. Interestingly. the electro dermal scanning can go through a large number of lists in a very short time, where conventional methods longer time.

There might be disinformation by the news lately that if you go through 5 or 6 different scanning services you get different allergy list and never the same.

The problem is different companies prepare different samples of the material, for example corn can have different species and varieties of the same plant. I have known one who is peculiarly allergic to a certain corn variety is a case in point. But a lesson here is if there is a problem if you buy some food from source A, go buy from source B.

The most common problem is fruits in UK and US for example all look nice, don't spoil because they are grown nutritionally deficient land, having only few nutrients so they look standardized. Obviously they can't spoil because bacteria can't thrive on few nutrients. So a case in point here is for me to buy from a small local food market, rather than the multi-billion dollar superstores, that sucks out local circulating currency from the community, sending food that are sanitized sterilized that it is no longer nutritionally healthy.causes a deficiency over time and that can result in a sort of sickness, that might even look as if we get sicker if we continue to eat them.

A pollen can come from any sorts of plants or flowers when they do prepare homeopathic samplings. Interesting, certain "authorities" make sure the results are completely destroyed by inadvertently putting cellular phones next to all the homeopathic samplings and the calling in or calling out, which creates microwave radiation completely destroyed it.

I had a chance to watch Randi's one million dollar reward to prove that homeopathic didn't work but the results were rigged, part of the test required that the homeopathic preparations was subject to a sort laser analysis, which even if our eyes were exposed we would go blind, the other thing is an untreated vials near a homeopathic samples were put next to each other.

For those who are familiar with homeopathic preparations, it is common for the vibrational energy fields to go from a homeopathic vials to an untreated one, when it is set for any length of time next to each other. In fact this is how I sometimes prepare a homeopathic remedies. This is because a prepared one will go to an unprepared one, while on the other hand two different homeopathic preparations do not flow into each other, because they have now an acquired vibration in each of the samples.' A manipulator to disprove homeopathic remedies know this and they do it to their advantage to disprove it. One easy way to skew the results is simply to make a homeopathic preparations and test on plant growth. It works everytime for me and my friends here. The treated plants grew much more then an untreated one and there's no placebo effect here, and this is even double blind test, in which I don't know it, and the person watering don't know, until after the results are in.

A simple way I have prepared a homeopathic preparation is to use the electric zapper into the water, shake it, use the water to planting, but not pour them all out, add more water, shake, and water the plant, and so on and so fourth. The results are always the same. I can go on forever telling of my experiments, but this is off topic.

Much of homeopathic medicine and electrodermal scanning works on the same principle as the biological systems responds to vibrational fields of certain preparations, and even in muscle testing (this is how dowsing works) and why certain ley lines below the bed can make you unhealthy depending on the bed po In fact electro dermal testing is a more specific form of muscle testing where the muscles responds to homeopathic vials. Interestingly, brainwave scans, using EEG responds similarly to them and a smell for example, even below threshold detections responds to them the same way as vibrational fields are picked up such as lay on healing or other energy field system. To deny them to exist, we have to deny that EEG doesn't exist and that's a difficult one to overthrow, so authorities simply ignore this issue, but in the future electro dermal scanning using EEG, or polygraph like methodology could be use to detect the body's compatibility of foods and other allergic response with greater speed. Interestingly it may be possible also to test whether certain homeopathic remedies work for you or against you just the same."

BREWERS YEAST ALLERGY

12/24/2007: N from PA writes: "I have recently added brewers yeast tablets to my regular diet. I take two tablets per day as well as my multi vitamins. 3 days ago I developed bumps and itching all over my body. I have been taking benadryl. Is there any way to speed up the recovery process? I have since stopped taking all vitamins. My only known allergy is to sulphur. Please help."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The itching might be due to the vitamin B3 niacin in the multivitamin. The preferred vitamin B3 is niacinamide. They tend to cause severe itching in some people, including me. Hence, if a multivitamin that doesn't contain the niacin may prevent the problem. A brewer's yeast allergy I don't get as much complaint. It is best to try each one out and find out what is causing the problem, however it is my experience that some companies add niacin, which causes the itchiness and sometimes bumps in people. Pure metallic iodine, instead of potassium iodide or sodium iodide tend to cause bumps. Therefore carefully read the labels of the multivitamin supplements as well as check the source of the problem. It could be likely be the multivitamin, but in rare cases do I have complaints about brewer's yeast. Most the problem I do received actually came from bee pollen, more so than even brewer's yeast, unless of course the brewer's yeast is past its expiration date and that might also be the cause too. EATING CAUSES MOUTH PAIN

11/28/2007: H writes: "Hello, I stumbled across your website and I was wanting to ask you something about me.. Its really hard for me to explain.. Whenever I eat anything the back of my mouth hurts so bad it makes me cry. I do have a food allergy to bell peppers and paprika but I'm positive that what I am eating doesn't have it in it.. But I mean the back of my throat feels like it does when I eat something Im allergic too. My throat feels swollen, its hard to swallow, cant chew because it makes the pain worse each bite that I take and there is pain in the back of my mouth by the base of my tongue and the roof of my mouth hurts too.. It just started happening today.. It has happened once or twice in my whole life.. but now its constant I barely have eaten anything today because of it.. When I drink something Im fine and a while after I eat Im fine again but as soon as I try to eat it happens again, I cant even chew a piece of gum. Have you ever heard of anything like this.. Please reply asap. I would really like to know whats wrong so I can try to get help about it.. Its excruciating. Please help me."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "H: It maybe either the virus or a certain strep throat bacteria. Usually doctors would give people amoxicillin for the strep throat, but I don't like the use of antibiotics.

I prefer to use 1%-1.5% H2O2 plus some baking soda. For example, in 1/2 glass of water, I will add one teaspoon of baking soda to the 1.5% H2O2 solution to use as a mouthwash.

I may also sip slowly about 2-3 cc of 1/2 glass of warm water with 10 drops of 3% H2O2 with 1 teaspoon of baking soda every 15 minutes for about four or five times to reduce it. Usually such pain I have encountered is a viral problem, rather than a strep throat. I might take some zinc lozenges and perhaps xylitol to reduce this pain.

If it is food allergies, the body will reduce the food allergy if the body is generally sufficiently alkaline such as 2 tablespoon of lemon juice with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water and drink this slowly, taken twice a day. It takes 3 days to notice improvement.

Certain bacteria and detoxification may help with a 250-500 mg of magnesium citrate, taken twice a day.

It is also quite common before a cold or a virus, that the throat becomes excruciatingly painful. Therefore 50 mg of zinc gluconate, baking soda 1/2 teaspoon in 1/2 glass of water, and sipping slow as mentioned before may help this problem.

It is difficult to find the real cause given the information you sent me, but the ones mentioned here are the common problems I encountered from difficulty swallowing due to sore throat.

One additional fact that might help, in case the sore throat are viral is 4 drops of peppermint oil, taken directly into the mouth and kept there for about 2 minutes before swallowing slowly. The peppermint oil will kill certain virus that causes the pain or irritation"

DOG ALLERGY RELIEF

11/11/2007: Elisa writes: "I'm SUPER allergic to dogs, nothing I've taken in the past has helped. Is there a natural remedy I could take? I'm going to be around a dog at Christmas for 2 days and would like to start something now to be prepared. Can you help?"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "This depends on what kind of allergic reaction you have on the dog, was it the sneeze or a skin reaction? A skin reaction can be due to fungus, or allergens on the dogs from the ragweed, plants and grasses in which the dogs were exposed to on and stayed on its fur.

To reduce this, the dogs should be taken a bath, perhaps with saturated borax added to the 1% hydrogen peroxide. Drinking plenty of green tea will reduce some allergic reaction as the tannins may help reduce the allergen materials in the body"

ALLERGIES SINCE PURCHASE OF NEW HOME

09/09/2007: S writes: "Thanks for your response TED. I really appreciate it. I started taking N-AcetylCysteine 2 weeks ago (600mg) twice a day, in hopes that it will help with allergies. But it has had no impact. I am also taking plenty of Vitamin C with it. Also started Vinegar steam. In the end, it seems like nothing is working. But I am continuing with NAC hoping it will eventually help. I am also taking ZINC Gluconate (50mg) intermittently, butno relief from symptoms. Looks like I just have to wait till the allergy season is over. Sometimes I feel defeated because of these allergies."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "If H2O2, vinegar or apple cider vinegar does not work, in which these will often neutralize the allergen toxicity by oxidizing or neutralizing, there is one common chemical that denatures the ragweed allergen Ra5, which is a strong tannic acid solution I used as aerosols to neutralize them or topical solution. The reason it has not been recommended is simply that tannic acid tends to cause staining problems (it turns to dark color in presence of any metal), and this is the last option.

The allergens can also be filtered in the home as an electrostatic filter to reduce them or a close alternative to denature them through at least reduced it by drinking strong green tea or other tea without milk or any sugar. Promegranate is very high in tannins that is one possible solution. Eating those might reduce some of this condition."

05/25/2008: Stephanie from Salt Lake City, Utah replies: "We built a home 13 years ago and after we moved in, my body just started to shut down. Long story short, it turned out that I was allergic to the chemicals that were off-gasing from the new carpet and paint etc.one of these chemicals being formaldahyde that is apparently used in carpet factories. It caused so many problems in me that it got so I couldn't eat anything that didn't cause a reaction and I became very frail and thin. I finally found help from a Doctor in Las Vegas who embraces anything that works-not just scientific med's. I loved him. Anyway, I have no allergies at all save a slight allergy cats. Otherwise, I am strong and heathly- a far cry from someone who could'nt even get out of bed. I know there is help out there, good luck to you."

EC: We emailed Stephanie for more information about what her doctor prescribed....

05/25/2008: Stephanie responds: "It wasn't really just one thing. He gave me homeopathic remedies that were mixed specifically for me and I had to have them adjusted a few times, but he has a team of people there so I saw several specialists including a therapist. They addressed my problems in terms of the whole package and not just my allergy symptoms. In fact, I didn't know until then that it was allergies causing the problem, I just knew I was really sick. The local Doctors I had been to could not find anything wrong with me. They checked for diabetes and all sorts of problems but ruled them all out. I went to the clinic in Las Vegas when nothing else worked and I wasn't getting any better. I will be honest with you, it was not an overnight fix. I shed alot of tears throughout that experience. I had to make alot of sacrifices. I couldn't eat any fruit or anything packaged or bottled or that was preserved with a chemical. I couldn't eat wheat or anything that had yeast in it. I couldn't eat really anything except-let me think...um, tofu, and certain veggies that were slightly steamed but never raw or they would make my throat itch horribly. I pretty much starved for a while and it was terrible for the first month or two, but it was better than feeling like my brain was "screaming" and having every muscle in my body become so weak that I couldn't stand up or make a fist. I was just 26 years old when that first started happening. Had we access to the internet back then, I would have had a wealth of information at hand that would have been invaluable in helping me to help myself. I think of how many years of suffering I went through before finding an answer. Now I just turn on the computer. I can't tell you what this site has done for me and my family and how much we have derived from it that really works. As for the allergies- I did homeopathics, allergy shots, nutritional support, thought field therapy, meditation, yoga and exercise, vitamin and mineral supplements and alot of crying and reflecting on my life until I was sick and tired of crying and reflecting on my life. I don't remember the exact day that I realized I was better. I know it took about three years of gradual improvement, but at some point during that time I was thinking about how long it had been since I had eaten a strawberry, and I decided I would be brave and try it. No reaction, so I introduced back more and more of the things that I had reacted to until one day I was back to normal again. I have never had an allergy since (except to certain cat's). I have learned alot about my own body because of that experience. I learned to set my own boundaries with food and stress and have learned how to be my own best friend when it comes to being in tune with my health. I hesitate to suggest any particular remedy, sometimes it is necessary to go for scientific medication when that is the answer. But I know that we were not put here on this earth to wander around in the dark. We have to look hard sometimes, but we have been given solutions. The thing that may help one person may not be the answer for another, but that is why there is never only one answer. I think with any situation, that what we need most of all is patience and hope. There is always hope if we choose it, and patience may have to be learned- but those two things together provide within ourselves an emotional starting point that is unsurpassed in healing any disease. A willingness to look at ourselves, our relationships, our lives, to love and forgive and to let go may not give us the perfect body or the perfect life, but it is the foundation for real joy and peace of mind which is, in my opinion, the definition of health."

ALLERGIES SINCE PURCHASE OF NEW HOME

09/05/2007: S writes: "Dear Ted: in spite of my health conciousness and healthy diet, I have been suffering from seasonal allergies for the past 6 years since we bought a new home. Both me and my husband are affected.

I am considering NAC for my allergies. Does it need to be supplemented with any other supplement. Also what do you think of Alpha Lipoic Acid and Biotin? Would it be good to add to my regimen? I am also struggling with premature gray hair and was hoping Biotin would be good to supplement.

In spite of supplementing with Vitamin C, b-complex, vitamin E and some cod liver oil, I am still confused why I am unable to get rid of my allergies. So far I have had no luck, but I really want to beat my allergies naturally.

I was enthusiastic about hydrogen peroxide, but for some strange reason, it constipates me, everytime I take it. I think I have to reduce my dosage. I took 2 drops of 35% h2O2 in a glass of water and got bloated and constipated.

I still have to look for Sodium thiosulphate as you mentioned. It is a reducing agent, which will reduce chlorine to Chloride. I am just wondering, if it will also reduce IODINE to IODIDE. Is that good or bad. Do we really need elemental Iodine or only IODIDE form.

Hope you get time to answer some questions. thank you so much"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Seasonal allergies and moving to new house seems to be a fungus problem and cleaning the house with borax may help.

Alpha lipoic acid and Biotin often helps with hair problem but also for gray hairs sometimes taking plenty of vitamin C helps too. Shampooing hair with borax may also help. Sometimes a fungus maybe eating up the melanin responsible for the gray hairs.

If hydrogen peroxide is constipating, it means the pH of the urine is not sufficiently alkaline enough which means it is below 6.5 and baking soda should be needed, and some potassium helps too.

Iodide form is the form the body uses, elemental form are more toxic."
