OKAY TO TAKE ACV WHILST ON A PRESCRIPTION DRUG?

09/08/2008: Cathy writes: "Ted~

Is it ok to use the ACV recipe for GERD while taking a prescription drug for it also???? I currently take Prevacid.

Also is the baking soda necessary or can I just use the ACV in water? Should raw organic ACV "with mother" be refrigerated after opening?????

Thank you~ "

09/11/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Cathy:

Apple cider vinegar is considered a food and can be consumed along with food or taken alone. In general most prescription meds WILL not work if people drink milk, eat yogurt and eat burnt toast or along with overcooked food. This is the most common problems I have encountered. What this does is that the casein milk protein from milk or yogurt completely covers up any prescription drug from performing. It's not that doctors don't know. They do know because milk is a commonly used item in food poisoning, along with charcoal, burnt toast, white eggs and yogurt. These I consider to be an anti-nutrient and I learned this the hard way.

Apple cider vinegar generally won't prevent absorption of prescription drugs, in general but certain drugs, not many do not react well with stomach acids so if it does not, apple cider vinegar won't either. But these will have capsules and other buffers that go right through the stomach acid to be absorbed through the intestinal tract.

In general a GERD condition I prefer to handle this with a neutral solutions of apple cider vinegar mixed with baking soda such as 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider vinegar and 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 glass of water. Usually taken three times a day. If the GERD persists, I will use other things, such as the use of borax remedies and the use of castor oil taken only every 4 days about 1 teasppon to clear the intestinal tract, especially the ascending colon to remove the toxicity through a castor oil detox.

Magnesium chloride, or magnesium citrate 250 mg usually twice a day, and some potassium bicarbonate (1/8 teaspoon) mixed with baking soda mentioned will give additional advantage in getting rid of GERD. Currently I am looking for a faster way to get rid of GERD such as a small pinch of ammonium chloride to be used in remedies right now, but I haven't quite work out all the details. However, other things can also further help, such as avoiding oily foods, fried foods, and excessive starch. These seems to make GERD so much worse as it fuels the GERD condition.
