<description>[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] Lila from Jacksonville, Fl writes: "MRSA: I used grapefruit seed extract (gse) topically mixed into french green clay (like a poultice, buy at health food store) to draw out the infection instead of having to have it cut out. Far more effective than anything the doctors had to offer. I was on Septra antibiotic for 10 days as well. Before the doctor cuts you open, it may be wise to consider using the green clay with distilled water and between 10-20 drops of ges. You can google for proper recipe.

Two months later I have a boil in a second spot and I am treating it with clay topically and taking the 125 gse capsules orally as well. Hoping and expecting I will not need antibiotics after vigilantly applying gse.

<description> Skeptic from Cuenca, Azuay, Ecuadorabonan Sent writes: "Do you know of anything that will penetrate the biofilm that MRSA secretes that is impermeable to ANY antibiotics? When patients with prosthetic features such as titanium knees contract MRSA, the standard procedure is to surgically remove the infected prosthesis and then treat with intravenous Vancomycin and 3 months later, install new prostheses. Is there anything you are aware of that will penetrate this biofilm and kill the MRSA? IBM/IBN has developed a hydrogel that is successful in this endeavor, but it is not commercially available and they won\'t release any to me for testing, in vivo. http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/40188.wss#feeds

Dentists commonly use Calcium Hydroxide to treat MRSA in root canals, but we don\'t know if it will penetrate the biofilm in the case of a patient with prostheses. We are willing to try any product that we find will penetrate the biofilm and kill the underlying bacteria, in vitro, by canulating arthroscopically to allow infusion into the area surrounding the prosthesis. There are quite a few well documented NON antibiotic substances that will kill MRSA in vitro, such as oligomeric proanthocyanadins found in cranberry extracts, and methylglyoxal, the active ingredient in Manuka honey. The question is, will any of them penetrate the biofilm AND kill the MRSA? Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated. We are trying to develop a protocol that will avoid prosthesis removal and the benefit to mankind should be obvious. These kinds of infections in patients with prostheses are common all over the world and are especially so in certain hospitals here in Ecuador.

Calms it down only but it is a sticky mess especially when applying to back of legs and putting pants on. Anything oily like Silver seems to spread the infection. Tumeric caused menstrual bleeding. Hydrogen Peroxide burned but didn\'t get rid of it. Baking soda - another messy application - helped but did not get rid of it. There was one ointment in the first aid section (can\'t remember name) that I got at Wal-mart that said it was for MRSA and the drug companies made them pull it because they weren\'t allowed to say it cured MRSA and it did!!! When I take any antibiotics, it comes back with a vegeance! Now I\'m trying garlic... But I\'m tired and defeated after two years of trying to get rid of it :(

<description>[YEA] Csfan from Orange County, California, Usa writes: "A year ago, I had a staph infection that manifested itself as hard-as-marble bumps on my head and a painful sore on my cheek. My dermatologist thought the sore on my cheek was acne and so he prescribed minocycline to handle both issues. I took 100mg of minocycline twice a day for thirty days with two refills. After the fifth day, the bumps and cheek sore were gone. I continued with the minocycline for the entire thirty days but about three weeks after I finished the prescription, hard bumps started appearing on my head.

I got another refill of minocycline and again, by the fifth day the bumps were gone. During the second week of this second round of minocycline, I did research on the internet and decided to supplement the minocycline with a concoction of 1tbsp of virgin coconut oil, 1 tbsp of turmeric and a pinch of pepper all mixed in water. I drank this three times a day. I continued with the turmeric drink even after I finished the minocycline but about three weeks after I finished the minocycline, hard bumps started appearing on my head again.

Another solution that I thought had promise was colloidal silver. I bought a bottle of 500ppm colloidal silver. I read the label and took the recommended adult dosage of 1/2 teaspoon. I did this three times a day. The bumps still grew but at a slower rate.

I decided to go for it. I upped the dosage to 2 tablespoons mixed with bottled water. About two hours afterwards, I noticed that the tops of the bumps had softened. About three hours later, the bumps hardened but were noticeably smaller. On the third day, I ran out of the colloidal silver so I went to the health food store nearest me and bought 30 ppm colloidal silver since they didn\'t sell the 500 ppm.

I took 2 tablespoons of 30 ppm colloidal silver but didn\'t notice any change in the bumps two hours later. I drank the rest of the 30 ppm bottle and noticed a very slight softening of the bumps as a result. At that point, I drove back to the original store and bought four bottles of 500 ppm colloidal silver. Two and a half days later, I was cured. It\'s been six months and I haven\'t experienced any staph bumps since.

About six days ago, I was coming down with a sore throat and a cough. I didn\'t even bother measuring out the colloidal silver and mixing with bottled water. I just drank it straight from the bottle. I finished a four ounce bottle in two days. When I woke up the third day, I was feeling great.

500 ppm colloidal silver is a yea for me and no, I didn\'t turn blue.

<description> Ky Mama from Clinton, Ky writes: "My four year old son had a staph infection on his ear and we were able to heal it naturally. At first, it looked like he had a tick bite on his ear lobe, and perhaps it was. After a few days it was oozy and inflamed.

I treated with tea tree and frankincense essential oil, diluted 1:1 with olive oil. I used charcoal poultices on it at night. (I mixed charcoal and ground flax seed with water to make a paste, put it on a paper towel and covered the spot on his ear with the poultice. I covered that with cling wrap and wrapped it to his head with a bandana. Charcoal must be wet to be activated, thus the cling wrap. ) After a week or two of this it was nearly better. Then he woke up one day and it was much, much worse. Now it was red and looked like the scalded skin staph rash (that another child of mine had had 14 years ago and I treated conventionally, knowing of no other options. ) The earlobe was swollen. I got very aggressive. I mixed honey and turmeric together (probably 1 part turmeric to 4 parts honey) and gave him ½ - 1 teaspoon of this 3-4 times a day, with a spoonful of extra virgin coconut oil. (He can\'t swallow pills, which would have been better. ) I just knew he needed the turmeric. For a four year old, ¼ t. Turmeric several times a day seemed to be the right amount however you can get it into them. ) I also gave him one minced clove of garlic mixed with honey on a spoon or on toast with honey 3-4 times a day. I continued to use the tea tree/frankincense, olive oil mixture several times a day. I also put tincture of iodine on his earlobe at least once a day. It was obvious that it was clearing up.

After a couple of days I stopped the garlic but continued the rest for 10 days or so until it was totally healed, and even then continued with the turmeric and oil mixture for a few more days. None of the amounts I used were set in stone. I share this because it can be hard to know how to dose a small child. I was just guessing based on past experience with my children. Too much turmeric could be constipating, so watch that and push fluids. I am sure staying off sugar would be ideal for healing, but we didn\'t do that totally. He did get carrot juice several days. We also washed hands and pillowcases a lot. Hope this will help someone. If you don\'t have the frankincense (it is expensive) you could try to substitute lavender. Some study showed that a mixture of patchouli, geranium, tea tree and lavender would kill MRSA. I have not had the need to try myself and most people don\'t have these on hand, but it is a good thing to know about and try if needed.

<description>[YEA] Marie from Indianapolis, Indiana, Usa writes: "I\'ve been on bactrim for four days now, which has helped heal two MRSA spots, but one just would not go away and was incredibly painful. I had to try something else (while continuing my antibiotic, of course). Instead of opting to go back to the doctor to have it drained, or going to the ED to have an IV antibiotic drip, I decided to try an herbal remedy. I\'m very thankful I did because I\'ll be honest, I am not a good patient when it comes to needles and knives!

I read someone\'s comment online yesterday to try equal parts of turmeric and honey, mix well until you get a liquidy paste and apply to the closed MRSA wound. I did this last night, covered it with gauze and woke this morning with significantly less swelling and pain! It\'s like a miracle spice. I will certainly relay this to my doctor. She likes to prescribe holistic advise when she can... I\'m hoping she will consider sharing this with other patients who are suffering from MRSA.

Side note: Before trying the topical application, I did follow one person\'s recommendation to mix a tsp of turmeric with 2 cups of milk and add honey... I was able to drink maybe a 1/3 of the mixture until I decided it was too much on a weak stomach. Wasn\'t exactly tasty. But I do realize that what amount I did ingest may have contributed to me feeling better this morning as well.

Good luck to all! Wishing you a fast recovery from this painful diagnosis.

<description> Bill from San Fernando, Philippines writes: "For once, here is some really good news from medical research, which might be of some interest or help to some people. They have found that vitamin B3, in the form of niacinamide, when supplemented in megadosage, considerably helps to get rid of MRSA. The reason for this is that B3 greatly increases the neutrophils count in the immune system. The researchers discovered that taking larger dose B3 effectively increases the strength of the immune system over 1000 times!! Here is the research proof:

http://www.naturalnews.com/037063_vitamin_B3_superbugs_infection.html

http://www.jci.org/articles/view/62070?key=a39ce7efc2f764ede04

The implications of the above research are that taking megadose B3 will help to cure much more than just MRSA. This means that B3 can be a very useful adjunct for candida, HIV AIDs and many other human diseases because the immune system is so hugely stimulated and supportive to the body. Furthermore, taking megadose B3 will not hurt the good bacteria in the gut. All good news.

My interest in B3 has been stimulated because neutrophils(as will as eosinophils) are found in all mucus glands in the body. In the extraneous mucus glands -- in the eyes, ears, nose throat, lungs, mouth, intestines and uterus (ie all initial routes of infection into the body)-- these mucus regions represent the main initial defense from outside attack and infection by pathogens. Iodine -- a very effective broadband pathogen killer in its own right -- is also always found in all mucus glands of the body. So by simply supplementing proper orthomolecular dosage levels of B3(as niacinamide) and iodine(as lugols iodine or kelp extract) you can greatly raise immune sysstem capability, further ensuring the effectiveness of the mucus gland\'s defence against outside pathogen attack and infection, thus ensuring a better protected outcome for the human body against outside pathogen entry.

I\'ve also recently ordered the book Niacin: The Real Story by Abram Hoffer, Andrew Saul and Harold Foster. I will report back any other interesting facts and finds that I discover on vitamin B3 at a later date.

I have a question or request for advice please. I have suffering from boils (staph infections??) for more than a decade, mostly localised in the pubic area. I usually thought they were ingrown hairs but after some research, Earth clinic directed me to reviews of the turmeric remedy which has really helped. However for a about 3 months or more I have been having chills, some really bad chest pains (like once every couple of months), and more recently shortness of breath. Reading up on MRSA symptoms, I wonder if this could be the reason. I have an appointment booked today to force a check-up out of my dr but wondered what remedy I could follow for ingestion. I have been reading up on Milk of Magnesia but have seen no recommendation on how it should be taken internally. For a week or so I have been taking 2 tbsp ACV and 1/4 tsp Baking soda. I also take 375mg magnesium daily.

Any help will be most appreciated.

<description>[YEA] Aisha from Vancouver, Canada writes: "I had mrsa breakout near pubic region. It was painful and I had been on antibiotics before. Antibiotics did treat the outbreak; however, I had stomach problems, rashes (not painful), and sunburn. After a year, I had another episode, and I didn\'t have healthcare/insurance to see the doctor again, and didn\'t have the guts to take antibiotics with all its side-effects. I looked up on google about natural remedies, and read about turmeric, garlic, manuka, and ACV on Earthclinic.

In the beginning, I would take turmeric 3 times a day, 1 tsp with milk, and put the garlic clove on the wound. It seemed like turmeric reduced the inflamation as well as the speed of occurence, however, it was not gone completely, there were still some. Garlic just felt too harsh/stinging on my skin.

As I was determined to treat this problem, I decided to increase my dosage of turmeric. I treated it like an antibiotic. Took 4 times a day --1tsp of turmeric with 1 tsp of ACV and 8oz of water to make it more drinkable. I had added turmeric to the milk before but it was slightly difficult to swallow. 10 days have passed, and by the grace of Allah/God, the infection has substantially reduced, and I am pleased to see the results. I also try to take 1tsp of Manuka honey 2X a day. I took bleach baths on regular basis.

Turmeric can also cause some stomach issues, so one has to be patient. It is difficult to take in then an antibiotic, and it takes longer time to affect than an antibiotic. However, it definitely works, and has less side effects, praise God. For those people whom 2 tsp a day of turmeric doesn\'t work, then they should definitely try to increase their dosage slowly.

I pray that all those who are suffering from this painful disease become healthy, and spend a productive and meaningful life. Best wishes.

<description> Michael_2012 from Orlando, Fl, U.s. writes: "I have so much to say, that I am finding it difficult where to begin. What I write now is only a brief summary of a portion of a lengthy battle with MRSA. My struggle with MRSA began about six years ago, when I awoke one morning with a painful blister on the front of my neck. I sought professional medical help, but unfortunately my illness was misdiagnosed as a simple ingrown hair infection. For this was a time of what appeared to be uncertainty across this country for what was to be a most disturbing and an extremely misunderstood bacterial infection. After receiving unsuccessful care for more than six months through my primary doctor, I was later directed to an infectious disease specialist. Round after round of antibiotics produced minimal and sometimes adverse affects. I began to have break outs, and puss filled sores through out my body. There were times when I had given up all hope, and I begin to have thoughts that my life was over and that this infection would ultimately take my life. I would eventually lose my job, as my place of business discovered my illness. My supervisor told me not to come back without a statement from my doctor which demonstrated I was cleared from the infection.

On a personal level I find it simply outrageous that 21st century medical professionals are unable to have a morsel of an impact on a bacterial infection. Through this experience I have lost respect for western medicine, and have found myself looking through eyes of suspicion at the cause and nature of the birth of MRSA. All of us can see how disheartening it is to hear the afflictions experienced from MRSA victims and some will eventually lose their life because they are being led down an erroneous direction by trusted medical professionals. Yet, there are answers right here, right now, which can make a difference and help save lives.

So, I had given up on doctors, all I had left to guide me through this challenge was my experience. And it was my experience that would ultimately lead me to the help that would make all the difference in the world. Some of the information that I am sharing now will help to choke the fuel which feeds MRSA, but don\'t just take my word for it. The information that I am sharing can be backed by science, and through Shannon Brown and his team in California this is exactly what they are doing. If you or a loved one has MRSA please take the time to do an internet search for Shannon Brown. Even if you decide not to use his product, you will be inundated with information that may save your life. It was through Shannon that I truly got an education on how MRSA works, and what I could do to stop it in it tracks for good.

This is what I\'ve learned from my personal experience,

*Sugar - MRSA lives and feeds on sugar. Your diet will play a huge role in eliminating MRSA. After eating a glazed doughnut one morning, I found that an infected boil increased in size and pain in a matter of hours. I later discovered that this information pertaining to sugar was being shared by Shannon Brown.

*Razors – Only use electric razors. If you are living with MRSA Non electric razors will leave openings in your skin that are perfect infection sites for MRSA to invade.

*Tumeric – By taking 1 500 mg tablet 2x a day, I have noticed a decrease in outbreaks on the skin. The only concern I have about turmeric is, although one may be controlling the outbreaks, one is still living with MRSA. Therefore a person may be unknowingly spreading MRSA through touch and human contact. I feel this is something that must be addressed as the goal should be eradication, not simply controlling the outbreaks. This may actually be doing harm in addition to good.

* Shannon Browns\' product. – Shannon\'s product is superior in the fight against MRSA and is currently what has saved my life. There are thousands of other recipients that have also had remarkable results, and are living examples of the fact that you can beat MRSA for good.

I know that what I am attempting to share will benefit many MRSA victims. However, I do not write this for victims alone. I write this now for those who find it in themselves to go beyond the borders of conventional medicine, and seek to heal themselves their loved ones, and most importantly to eradicate MRSA from their lives. I share this for those who are fighters. For I am one with you!

I wish everyone success in their struggle with this affliction! May you find wholeness and complete health this very year!

<description>[YEA] Sue from Gold Hill, Or writes: "I feel I contracted MRSA from a hot tub. I was going through some stress at the time, and I was not eating healthy at the time. I tried many, many things, and this is what I have discovered for myself. RAW HONEY mixed with TURMERIC makes the best paste to put on any MRSA wound. Cover it with a bandage. Raw honey is a miracle! It contains so many enzymes that it can heal any rash or sore when nothing else works. I learned this from personal experience. Take all white flour and sugar out of your diet while you are trying to heal, including alcohol drinks. Try to keep your PH balance by alkalizing with 1 T. Raw apple cider vinegar and 1/4 t. Baking soda (good quality from health food section) mixed with nice cold water. Once in morning and night. Taste like plain seltzer water. Be patient! Everyday keep putting on a mixture of raw honey mixed with turmeric on wound, and it will start healing. Start building up your immune system and eat healthy, no white flour, no sugar, stay away from real sweet fruit, such as bananas and grapes while you are trying to heal. This is from my own personal experience.

<description>[YEA] Leora from San Francisco, Ca writes: "I had this horrible staph infection on the back of my legs and I spent days putting ACV (which usually works for most things) on it. Nothing happened. The staph was replicating and the boils were getting bigger. Finally, I went to my doctor who ordered systemic antibiotics and it went away in about 4 days. A month later the staph came back. I hadn\'t been sleeping due to my 6 month old being sick with his first cold, bad cough and congestion. My immune system was just worn down. I didn\'t want to do antibiotics again because I\'m still breastfeeding, but I had heard about Manuka honey and skin infections. I figured I\'d try it for a few days and if it didn\'t work, I\'d call in and get the antibiotics. I put it on at night, and then the next morning, the boil had shrunk. It was still red, but the \"anger\" had gone out of it. It wasn\'t large and painful and \"alive\" any longer. I was in shock.

The other thing that was going on was that I had caught my baby\'s cold. My throat was killing me and I was starting to get that cough and congestion. I decided that if it worked so well on my leg, maybe it would work well on my throat. I took a teaspoon full and within an hour my throat stopped hurting. It then turned into a chest thing where there were some resperatory stuff coming up, but not in that violent way at the beginning of an illness, more like at the end. A few hours later, I took another teaspoon full and napped with my baby for an hour and a half, and when I woke up, cough and mucus from my chest - totally gone! I can\'t believe it.

<description> Jj from Denver, Co writes: "I found out about the superbug MRSA by getting it after shaving a few months ago. I lived in Phoenix and was told this is something I already had, and one day while staying in Denver through the holidays I shaved and in hours had boils, sores, and finally hospitalized for MRSA. The dr's had no idea what was going on. My girlfriend was going crazy because I was so upset and saw something but couldn't put my finger on it. Finally after three visits to the er, I was admitted and told about this superbug. When I was admitted I had a hole in the side of my face on my jaw line that a half dollar coin could fit through. There was black beads inside and pus and blood seeping out. I cried often as I do now. The sight of any black in our house makes me cry and I dig at anything under my nails out of fear that this is coming back. Well it always does. It has never gone away. I do not have state insurance, and since I'm single and have no dependent children I can't get state insurance. The dr's only help me as much as they have too since there is no insurance to bill. Pain med's, and antibiotics is all I ever see.

Now I can't get out of bed because I'm so tired and fatigued all the time. I sit in bed and cry when the hairs fall out of my face or head. I can watch the sores come back leave scars and go away and come back another day. I have tried many things, eating better, adding garlic to diet, cutting out cigs, I don't drink so that was easy. Tea tree oil is next and so is barley and yogurt with live bacteria.

But when does this end? I have had thoughts that I cannot go through this again. I can't watch the monster tear my family up by tearing me up. I try to work through the pain, depression, and anger. I am here on this site just looking for support and someone else that knows what it's like to hurt all the time and just want to give up. Thank you.. JJ

<description>[YEA] Ken from Vancouver, Canada writes: "I cured many Staph infections large and small which are very common in the humid tropical regions of the world. The simple solution was:

Yunnan Baiyao which is a very common remedy available in any Traditional Chinese Medicine ( TCM ) shop. Cost a few $ only and is in powder or capsule form which can be appied topically and or taken orally. It heals these boils in one or two days like magic. Search Google for more info. Also good to keep skin dry and clean as possible with good nutrition to avoid recurrence."</description>

<title>Manuka Honey, Alkaline Diet, Supplements</title>

<description>[YEA] Jill from Washington, Dc writes: "After reading everything on this website (and beyond) for curing staph infections - I tried it all! I did not want to go through multiple rounds of antibiotics searching for one it would not be resistant to. I tried: turmeric powder, drinking raw garlic that had been crushed and sitting for 15 mins, bathing in crushed garlic, applying crushed garlic to wound, aplying baking soda mixed with filtered water directly to the wound, applying manuka honey to boil (16 ), an alkaline diet including foods &amp; supplements - ACV and baking soda, seaweeds, wheat grass, calcium/magnesium, and bathing in bentonite clay. I think that's it.

By far what worked best for me was:

a) applying manuka honey (go for an expensive jar - totally worth it) directly to the wound. I saw an immediate difference each time after applying for hours

b) alkaline diet and supplements. As soon as I approached the healing range my infection cleared up so fast!

The garlic applied directly stung, but didn't seem to do much. Garlic bathing helped a bit, but not as much as simply applying the honey. Baking soda applied directly dried out the wound but didn't help it heal.

Thank you everyone for all your helpful ideas!!

<description> Zander from Cincinnatti, Oh writes: "We had a bed bug infestation from a guitar case which we had loaned out and retrieved.

We self treated with DE [you have to be VERY careful with this, protect your respiratory system with a respirator, not a paint mask and it must be food grade, not swimming pool filter type] and, at a separate time, yes kerosene. We have an all wood ceiling and floors. We used a nasty, non-natural insecticide in the kerosene and mopped the floors and ceiling with the mixture. Obviously, one must exercise common sense caution with the use of kerosene [as with any flammable liquid], which is the centuries old treatment for bed bug destruction and repulsion [old timers would place their bed posts in cans of kerosene to prevent them from scaling the posts].

A thorough examination of the bed frame and bedding--under mattresses particularly, must be done as well as under lamps, particularly floor lamps, furnishings, book cases, behind switch plates and outlet covers. Remove such covers and paint the backs of each with DE bound in a bit of soapy water. Allow to dry completely before replacing.

We made the fatal error of using bug "bombs" at our first discovery of these creatures which spread them and caused us to have to battle them for months, rather than the day or so it might have taken to eradicate them. The bug bombs spread them. They are much easier to find and eliminate if they are not spread.

The last bed bug we saw was 3 months after the search and destroy measures faithfully followed as described above; however, I experienced what I believed were bite marks for ..... two years afterwards.

I went to extreme measures and actually slept in a diving suit! When "bite" marks appeared inside the covered areas I tried to determine if these were delayed skin reactions to previous bites that had perhaps occurred elsewhere in the home. That was so much fun to wonder about.

After leaving my home for three months, I came to suspect MRSA as the source of the "bite" marks. The marks were typically MRSA like "spider bite" in appearance.

I began a natural protocol for MRSA which included zinc, turmeric and coconut oil. The "bites" then disappeared.

I believe that what I had was MRSA carried by the bed bugs. I would like to confirm with a home test kit, if possible. If anyone has information about where such can be ordered online, I would be truly grateful.

<description> Alegrefeliz from Troncones, Guerrero, Mexico writes: "Hi, I am in Mexico. My housekeeper's 5yr old has open sores over his body. The doctors here say it is herpes. I am concerned for her and so I am investigating. I had staph once and know how hard it is to get rid of it and my daughter had mrsa three years ago. Mrsa is new to me but I know it is dangerous.

I am concerned about misdiagnosis because this could be life threatening. I want to help her but alternatives are not understood so well in this mexican culture. So simple is best.

She will go to the doctor, of course, but I want to make the suggestion that it could be mrsa. I thought herbes was basically oral or genital. The child does have genital sores but also all over his body.

I know we are not going to diagnosis this here, but I hope to help her in anyway I can.

It seems that washing with apple cider vinegar is helpful and turmeric sounds like a miracle.

Turmeric milk was mentioned.

Also, it is my understanding that regular honey spread over the sores, seals the sore from the air and creates a sterile environment and soft enough for new skin to grow. Anyone know more about this? That special honey is out of the question.

I can only suggest simple for her, things she knows and do not cost much.

Thankyou
