Water kefir is so wonderful!

I had recurring staph infections for many years. At first I cured them with urine, and it worked wonders, at first. Then years later I got another infection and the urine wasn't working so well anymore.

I tried so many different remedies, turmeric, garlic, ACV, mushroom tea and tinctures, made my own colloidal silver, as well as many, many other things, including probiotics and sourkraut. I can't believe how much I did and some of it helped, and yet I continued to get worse, I know now it's because of stress. I got cellulitis and then knew that the bacteria was inside my body and I could feel myself getting weaker. Even the naturopath said to take antibiotics but I knew that was not the route that would cure me.
Thank God I found Kim's post on Kefir from 2015, after many hours of reading posts, and ordered some water kefir! The stuff I got on Amazon was ok, but seemed to break down after a month and never reproduced. I got some other grains, and those grains are still reproducing. Once I started drinking the water kefir my wounds finally started to go away, but not completely.

I found an article that said you need to drink 1 liter a day to get the medicinal benefits, so I doubled the amount I was making and sprayed it on my skin, as well as put the "grains" on my wounds, and that helped tremendously! The wounds dried up and were gone in a week!

It's been months and I no longer get an infection when I get a cut, which is such a huge relief!

I learned that in Hawai'i especially, or anywhere with lots of humidity and warmth and therefore lots of harmful bacteria and fungi, it's important to grow water kefir, and all fermentation, in an anaerobic environment, using an airlock lid. I found the pickle pipes to be the easiest, and am going to get the medical grade stainless steel airlock lids soon.

I hope more people find out about water kefir, and how more important replacing beneficial microbes are, rather than just trying to kill off the bad ones. It makes sense because of gut health depends on a diversity and balance of bacteria and fungi. In my opinion it's the first place to start. Lots of nutrients from green smoothies and Chlorella also made a difference I could feel!

After battling MRSA for over 3 years now, I have tried Minocycline, Doxycycline, Clindamycin, Rifampin, Hibacleanse, bleach baths, Bactriban, mega doses of turmeric, garlic baths, garlic pills, garlic cream, mega doses of niacin amide, topical manuka honey, silver gel, silver solution, daily laundering of all bedding... The list goes on. Needless to say, as everyone who has ever dealt with MRSA can attest to, it has been extremely frustrating and depressing not to get rid of these painful boils and little itchy red bumps that always appear and take forever to get rid of. It's especially debilitating when these cover your face, neck, and arms. You feel like you have leprosy. So, after trying all of these "remedies" to no avail, I started making my own water Kefir ( a Probiotic) . I ordered 2 tablespoons of water Kefir grains on Amazon.

Step 1: I warmed up 4 cups of spring water ( chlorine and fluoride in tap water will kill the Kefir grains.

Step 2: I add 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar ( use this because the Kefir needs minerals and sugar to grow), and stirred until dissolved.

Step 3: Put the sugar water and kefir grains in a jar, secure the top with a coffee filter and rubber band, place in a warm dark place for 24-48 hours.

Step 4: Strain the kefir grains out.

Drink the probiotic water you now have, and start all over again from step 1.

The results are almost immediate. My boils and sores just start disappearing and drying up. I also put the kefir water in a spray bottle and spray it on my skin, and I put it in a nasal spray bottle and spray it up my nose. I have been doing this for about 2 weeks now and as long as I drink it daily, my skin stays clear. I'm hoping that by doing this daily for a few months, the MRSA will be gone for good.

I will add some research articles supporting the evidence that shows kefir kills MRSA and destroys the biofilms.

Yes!! kefir is a great tool ....it helps alkalize the body as do other fermented foods. I drink goats milk kefir which does not have the lactose sugars that cows milk kefir does. I dont have time to culture my own kefir, or i would. the brand I use is _______, available in my area in health food stores, and even Whole Foods Market.

At the end of 2006, I contracted MRSA. I still have scars from that early time before I learned about kefir. I only bought one batch of kefir grains in early 2007, and I am still fermenting using grains created from that first batch. I never took any antibiotics. After I started sipping homemade kefir all day and night, I have never had any more outbreaks, except one time in 2008, I stupidly cut back on the amount of kefir I was drinking and got paid back with an outbreak on my chest. I am sipping my kefir as I write this. My primary said my MRSA looks "dormant". Yes, it is "sleeping" but if I stopped kefir, it would rage up again. Mike is located in DELRAY BEACH, Florida, if any of you are near him. But he mails the grains out very fast and I will tell you they are fresh and very powerful.

I sprinkle some turmeric in a couple times a day. Mike will teach you all about how to make your own fresh kefir at home. Or write to me. BTW, I do not eat any kind of meat or fish, because they contain HEME iron which causes MRSA bacteria to rage up. I am 66, I garden, shop, do my web work, and live normally just as I did before I contracted this hideous MRSA. If I can do this, so can you! Anyone can email me anytime. I care about people with MRSA.
