SUGGEST REMEDIES FOR MY SYMPTOMS

01/04/2008: SB writes: "These are my current symptoms: abdominal bloating, belching, vomiting, nausea, constipation, discomfort in my abdomen, a swishing sound coming from different areas of my abdomen.

I started getting nausiated, belching and then vomiting last October just about every night. I then began to have trouble swallowing. My Dr. thought it was acid reflux so he put me on nexium. My symptom improved, but didn't go away and if I stopped taking the nexium my everything would start up again. I went to a gastro intestional specialist, spent alot of money having alot of test done. I'm thankful that all test came back negitive, but it doesn't explain what is happening. Here recently the gastro intestional Dr. took me off the nexuim, said I didn't have Acid Reflex and put me on Aciphex. It's not helping. My stomach wakes me up at night feeling weird. I'm staying swollen, I'm taking Miralax for the constipation, I'm eating very bland foods. I'm getting depressed, I'm belching, still throwing but not as much. How can I take back control of my body and get my digestive system back in check? I'm 37 and I've never had these types of problems. I don't smoke or drink. Even if I did drink I would just throw it up. Please help."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "There are certain remedies which can help this condition, but I won't started with treating the symptoms but deal with the cause.

The best remedies that has helped me is the royal jelly, fresh frozen kind, one teaspoon to two teaspoon, single dose.

However, because of lack of availability of inconvenience, there are other things that I will try FIRST in case the royal jelly were not available.

The conditions seems to be some sort of accidental aspartame poisoning (thinking it was sugar or salt!), at least from your description this appears it, but it is different in that no mention of burning urine, that sometimes happen too, as the urine becomes quite acid.

The other poisoning that had at least a similar respects to this was an accidental Monosodium Glutamate poisoning, again someone in my house put in this stuff, labeled sugar and sometimes put in salt.

Usually a doctor would know about this, but the remedy for either of those, are the vitamin B complex, B100, or even the B50. Its effect from the condition should be noticed within an hour or two. If not, I will go another one, but I can take them at the same time too, which is the magnesium supplements, such as magnesium citrate 500 mg, or magnesium chloride 500 mg. The magnesium helps detoxifies, B complex reduces the effects of the poisoning and gastrointestinal troubles. Sodium thiosulfate or a dechlorinator, quite often found in aquarium shops, but funny enough is not sold in humans detoxifies many poisons I have encountered and I do take it to deal with aspartame poisoning that was surreptitiously added in many foods. The dose I take is 10 drops of it, in 1/2 glass of water.

The B50 or B100 required, at least for me along with magnesium, sodium thiosulfate, I will take for about a two weeks, before discontinue, if I knew it were helpful within an hour or two of taking it and my eventual recovery were slow.

It should be noted that 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water I will still take 3 times a day as I have found it to be quite good detoxifier in most cases.

In event the above were not useful, or useful, but not recovering as quickly, I will take the addition of activated charcoal to pull out the toxins. But this I may do on the second day, as I believe the toxins has entered in the blood and the B complex and magnesium would be helped at this stage, as they are neuroprotective.

I hope this information helps! If not please email me for more questions."

INABILITY TO EAT, VITAMIN D

12/24/2007: Kristine writes: "Ted, I am a 42 year old female in great health weighing in at only 116 pounds, quite active and able to eat "any" food I may have desired. That is, except for these past 6 years. There is nothing I did differently. I simply woke-up with the inability to eat just what I ate yesterday. If I had been overweight and lacking in exercise I suppose the doctor would have told me to lose a few pounds and get moving. Also I do not drink or have ever had but just a few drinks on New Years Eve or the 4th of July. Also, I do not smoke nor have I ever smoked. Believe me the doctor's look dumbfounded. I did; however, 3 months ago have a test for vitamin D as well as a series of other vitamins and minerals and found that my "D" levels were basically in the single digits. They immediately put me on an eight week treatment of 50, 000 iu a week. My biggest complaint was being SOOOOO tired and weak. Little did I know this wonder drug of sorts would clear-up, no, I should correct myself and say "CURE" me of IBS. Within 2 weeks I saw no more symptoms: no bloating, no gurgling, no sour stomach with nausea, NO diarrhea or constipation. My bowels began to empty quite well on some sort of schedule again, once in the morning and again in the evening with no discomfort and completely formed stools. No more drugs like "Pepcid" or "Gas-x" which I took everyday. There was no metallic odors, blood or mucus any longer. I had it so badly that I seriously believed it was cancer and was considering a colonoscopy at the age of 41. It had completely ruined my life. I went from being normal one day to being abnormal the next. Now, the problem is this, I need more of what they prescribed to me 3 months ago. If my levels were so low in the first place it would seem to me that I may still be far from being well at this point if my IBS symptoms are now returning full force. Yes, I am taking "Nature's Made" Vitamin D but I did notice that it contained mainly D3 not the D2 I have read so much about. D2 seems to be the form of "D" that along with calcium helps the intestines to work properly eliminating the symptoms of IBS. Since my levels are up they will not give me any more of the prescription form. Therefore, I need to know is that prescription a "purer" form of vitamin D containing the D2?? I am desperate here to get a hold of this form of Vitamin D. The color of my bowel-movements has changed again even in the last few weeks back to yellow and not dark brown. PLEASE!!! If you know of some way in which I can finally get this under control please say so. How can they keep denying this vitamin to the public. I now know what will help me and they won't give it to me. I do know too much can be harmful but in my case I figure I have a ways to go before that happens. A simple vitamin is all I need and to think I could actually get along without the over-the-counter drugs COMPLETELY! Did you know my calcium levels were fine only my "D" was deficient. I have also sustained 3 rib fractures in the last 18 months. I had a bone density test last week and am waiting for the results after Christmas. I was told I was the youngest woman she had seen to be having this test. I ate out tonight what I had to eat a month ago during my treatment and had to rush home due to diarrhea. I take 1400 iu a day, 1000iu of D3 and 400iu of "D" in a multivitamin. What else can I do? Can you really help me and how much damage has this deficiency caused me in bone loss. I feel like my doctor is not listening. Do you also feel I need another test such as a urine or MRI to check the extent of the damage? Should I insist on more tests and if they refuse try another doctor? Things seem to be moving quite slowly concerning my health and I do believe I have quite a bit of damage that I have sustained for nearly 7 years now. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank-you"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "

Dear Krist: What vitamin D does is that it raises the entire immune system, and hence it helps with the bloating, IBS and all sorts of complaints.

'

The problem about vitamin D is that it needs to be taken along with magnesium to balance the critical magnesium to calcium ratio of 2:1. However most SAD (Standard American Diets)are too much calcium and not enough vitamin D. I remember Billy Bob Thorton who ate just eating potatoes and developed a mycardium of the heart from excess calcium as potatoes have more calcium than milk, and the body's lack of potassium could easily lead to a heart problem too. Addition of sea salt in a drinking water could also reduce IBS, but if a urinary tract infection, I might use 1 teaspoon of sea salt in one full glass of water, one single dose does it.

The single biggest issue that prevent me from mentioning the use of Vitamin D more frequently for IBS and a range of other condition is the lack of availability of vitamin D at doses between 20,000 to 50,000 i.u., which I have seen to be quite effective, even for the condition of atrophy and lupus.

The problem about taking vitamin D for so long is the possible weaknesses felt from higher serum calcium but additional magnesium and b complex will offset most of the excesses. Still, some vitamin C is needed, especially for the leg weakness such as 1000 mg of vitamin C sodium ascorbate, an alkaline form.

The condition of weaknesses mentioned, a common remedy I used is the vitamin b50 complex, plus a balanced electrolyte such as 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/8 teaspoon of potassium citrate in 1/2 glass of water twice a day to balance off the sodium:potassium ratio. The other thing is the addition of sea salt in drinking water such as 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt per one liter of water. The sea salt has the micromineral that is needed, and its pH averages about 8.0.

In terms of effectiveness, the vitamin D3 is the ones that the hospitals usually used, but in third world countries, such as where I live we used vitamin D2. Vitamin D4 is seen as an active form of vitamin D that we used, which is helpful against even kidney diseases, but vitamin D3 is seen is second most effective, followed by D2, being the least effectiveness. However in practice, I do not see much differences between D2 and D3, although D4 is quite effective but they are way too expensive, since it is in an active form. The greatest difficulty in obtaining vitamin D3 or D2 is the I.U. that hospitals used, which are between 20,000 - 50,000 i.u. requires a prescription and this is the major block. It used to be only 50 years ago, where vitamin D of such were available to cure a lot of people with bone diseases such as rickets, with controls in place, the bone diseases have jumped, making a boon for bone surgery, rather than a preventive vitamin D that was quite effective against a number of bone disease, because it is controlled.

The only way a lot of my friend obtained such is either to buy in bulk, go to a foreign country and buy there, or simply just taking 20 of those 1000 i.u. vitamin D2, or even more so just taking the cod liver oil. Some enterprising friend I contacted years ago bought the vitamin D from a vet, instead of giving his dog, he used it on himself due to the lack of available nutrition in humans. Actually the differences between the dog and a human is the packaging, chemically the vitamin D2 is still the same."

IBS , CONSTIPATION , DIARRHEA

03/07/2007: Adam writes: "I know that I have IBS, or some form of it at least, but I can't determine which it is. I've brought up my specific symptoms to several doctors and they always just give me the same lame answers that never bring me any closer to solving my problem. I think I might have a mix between occasionally IBS w. constipation and occasional IBS with Diarrhea. For a long time it was more of the IBS w/ diarrhea. but I didn't have it all the time. In fact I would sometimes go months without having diarrhea. The more constant thing was loose bowels and the need to go often, for several hours a day, at least two times a day. I read one person's review on your website and they said they found the best thing was to start the day with an empty bowel, and I too have found this to be true. I'm in school right now, as I have been for the last five years, and I find if I wake up early and eat, then lay back down and then go to the bathroom for an hour then that works o.k. (but more recently that method has been failing). I also don't eat for the course of the day that I have things to do, only daring to eat when I'm home and I know I have some time if I need it. Also, often when I eat I get nauseous and occasionally I have to lay down for a little while afterwards. And it's not always with the same types of food, it can change quickly, so what was normally safe food becomes food that makes me sick. I also lose my appetite suddenly while eating, even having to resort to spitting out food while I'm eating due to extreme sudden nausea. I know this is a lot to tip onto your plate, but I thought maybe you would have some knowledge of what these symptoms mean. I've had three colonoscopies (which revealed some non-dangerous Polyps which were removed) but suggested my bowels were fine (according to the GI doc, who I didn't trust) I take citrucel every night, which was helping up until my recent bout of constipation, I've had food allergy tests, I've taken a sulfur pill, I've gone on the gluten free wheat free diet, and none of it has helped in the slightest. I still take hours in the bathroom and I feel bad more often than not. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them, I'm about to graduate college and I really need to get a handle on my condition before I join the workforce, otherwise my chances of a good job are slim. -Thank you, "

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Adam: Your condition seems to be unstable bacterial flora where there is many, but changing bacterial flora colonies that flip flops with changes in your extreme dietary changes.

Always going in the morning and emptying the bowels work, but perhaps just as important is keeping the body's pH in a stable level is important to have a stable bacterial flora colonies that does not changes as pH is now under control.

A simple solution to the problem that should help the most, and you are encourage to try different level of dose.

1. For your age, the estimated alkalinity the body requires to maintain a stable set of bacterial flora colonies is about at least 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day. Once in the earliest morning you wake up, another time before bed time of the same dose.

2. To give a good friendly bacterial flora colonies, taking some good yogurt taken once a day, preferably after meal during supper or before supper. The bacterial colonies should at least stabilized.

3. A simple sea salt have a tendency to eliminate most unfriendly bacteria colonies. The preferred dose often is to drink this in a drinking water.

There are two possible dose, but your condition I think it is closer to 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, plus 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda in one liter of water.

If this is too strong for you (diarrhea or too much loose stools), then go for 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt plus 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda as your drinking water.

If the solution appears to be too salty regardless of how little you put in to your drinking water, your water is contaminated with heavy metals, which is what causing all the problems. Therefore, at least give it a try to drink at least a week of bottled glass mineral water with the usual sea salt and baking soda as your drinking water.

Once you know if the source is in fact a contaminated drinking water with heavy metals, or that you take swimming course (chlorine can play havoc with your bowels once they get absorbed through your skin), then you need to take every day a reasonable amount say 1/2 handful of coriander chinese parsley in 4 days out of 7 days.

Assuming that chlorine is your source of problems of irregular bowel movements. Yes I had it and it was resolved by adding 3-6 more drops of dechlorinator, sodium thiosulfate 10% solution in 1 liter of drinking water, in addition to the baking soda and the sea salt. You may get initial loose stools in the beginning of use, but it is only a temporary condition as it rids of toxic bacteria by clearing up the system.

Keeping a stable pH, reduced dietary sugar, eating some yogurt in supper time, getting morning bowel movement, plus normal bowel movements preferably 2-3 times a day. should note some improvement in your health.

Your nausea can resolved by taking a good vitamin B complex supplements for the week, then stop. The appetite should normalize, and nausea should be gone. If not take 500 mg of vitamin C, preferably sodium ascorbate. Students seem to be deficient in vitamin C all the time, especially woman. Why that is so, I don't know, perhaps stress in school and too much studying depletes vitamin C levels."

LOOKING FOR A REMEDY FOR IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME

09/07/2006: J from Lucknow, India writes: "I am looking for natural remedy for irritable bowel syndrome and ankylosed hip and spinal joints."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear J; All three are related in one way, a vitamin D deficiency. Usually taking about 20,000 I.U. of D4 per day for a period of only a month should help relieve joint pain.

However, D4 is very expensive or unobtainable, so the next best thing is to get D3 which are relatively cheaper. If luck doesn't have it the next best lower quality substitute is a D2. For a vitamin D to work properly. Magnesium and Potassium will help. Magnesium chloride 250 mg./day, or magnesium citrate, magnesium gluconate are o.k. However for irritable bowel syndrome magnesium chloride is the preferred choice.

For potassium you should consider Potassium chloride or potassium citrate are acceptable. However you should obtain almost immediate relief just taking 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt plus 1/2 teaspoon of potassium chloride to 1/2 glass of water.

There is a study that people with IBS have a potassium deficiency and another study showed vitamin D deficiency, while problems due to hips and joints are all usually related vitamin D.

Checking your urinary pH will reveal something also, acid urinary pH below 6. If this is true, the body cannot retain the calcium due to acidic pH. It is therefore wise to take 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda + 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid (or one whole lemon) in 1/2 glass of water twice a day. When urinary pH is normal, calcium will no longer be leached from the bones.

In my own home, the joint pain was of another cause. I have seen instances, that if you also have joint pain and also some muscle pain but not every time, it is also a sign of copper toxicity in your body.

I found that out after developing my own heavy metal tester (commercial ones don't work) and found the source of the toxicity came from the rusty old water faucets from my water filters and connections. Therefore I would obviously changed the faucets, connections and wash the water filter with a couple tablespoons of disodium EDTA to remove the toxic metals from in my water filter device. In this case my water filter is more toxic than an unfiltered faucet water.

I have also relieved this problem by adding 100 mg.-300 mg per liter disodium EDTA of drinking water to rid of the heavy metal free radical copper and zinc.

As a result of using this I also experienced complete recovery of joint pains also. Of course once the body have so much of this stuff, it will take a while to remove them completely from your body due to years of drinking contaminated water.

All external conditions have various causes, it is just a matter of detective work and lots of time! Our doctors today are no longer doing any detective work, but simply medicine dispensers and this makes me worry a lot that they are missing the point that you must treat the cause and not the symptoms."
